We're taking on the Kid's Summer Challenge for Young Lives vs Cancer.

Want to join us in supporting a good cause? We're taking on the Kid's Summer Challenge for Young Lives vs Cancer and your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate £5 or £500. Every little bit helps. Thank you for your support.

Young Lives vs Cancer help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. Make a donation and show your support today. 

  • £15 could go towards a grant to cover travel costs for long journeys to live saving treatment 
  • £26 could pay for an hour with a Young Lives vs Cancer Specialist Social Worker. They help families understand and cope with the emotional, practical and financial effects of cancer. 
  • £70 could pay for a night in a Young Lives vs Cancer Homes from Home, a free place for families to stay close to specialist hospitals when their child is going through treatment, keeping families together

Busy walking week

Saturday 9th Aug
Poor Nuri hurt her ankle! So running has slowed to walking and a punctured bike tyre means that walking is the only way. She's still smashed it and Cai has been joining the journey every day on his bike too.
Some days have been harder than others, feeling tired from full holiday days but we know those days matter more and it reminds us how hard each day can be for the children and families we're raising money from Nuri has learnt that exhaustion is something a lot of children with cancer feel during treatment and that most would struggle to do this challenge due to so many hard symptoms or side effects. We've been saying thank yous on our walks when it gets tough. Thank you for our village, thank you for our health, thank you for our family...we're learning to be grateful for the daily blessings we often overlook. 10 miles down, 21 to go!

Nuri is at her grandparents for the day but was out before bedtime last night, doing a mile in readiness for the challenge.

Nuri has been getting ready for the summer challenge, going on morning runs with dad around the village and checking how far she's going, often beating the 1mile target.

She would love to raise enough money to fund a families accomodation for a week when their child is in hospital. She knows it's a lot of money but is determined to do all she can to complete the challenge.
