I'm taking on 100 miles in March for Young Lives vs Cancer.

I’m taking on 100 Miles this March for Young Lives vs Cancer.

I’ll be completing 100 miles between 1st and 31st March to help raise vital funds for children and young people with cancer.

Young Lives vs Cancer help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. Make a donation and show your support today.

Just a £26 donation could fund an hour of support from a Young Lives vs Cancer specialist social worker ensuring children, young people and families always have someone by their side throughout their cancer journey.

Thank you for your support.

My Updates

From summers mum

Saturday 14th Feb
As a mum, nothing prepares you for hearing that your child has cancer. Our daughter was diagnosed at just 15 years old with a rare cancer called mesenchymal chondrosarcoma. She went through eight rounds of intensive chemotherapy and major surgery to remove the tumour, which also meant losing her eye. Through every step, she has shown incredible strength and determination.

She is now having proton beam therapy to target any microscopic cells that may have been left behind, giving her the best possible chance for a healthy future. Watching her face each stage of treatment with bravery has been both heartbreaking and inspiring.

Mesenchymal chondrosarcoma is a very rare type of cancer, which means specialist treatment and expert care are so important. It can affect bones or soft tissue, and every person’s treatment plan is carefully tailored to them. Advances in treatments, including proton beam therapy, are helping to improve outcomes and reduce damage to healthy tissue.

Throughout our journey, Young Lives vs Cancer has been a huge source of support for us. They helped us navigate the practical and emotional challenges that come with a childhood cancer diagnosis, and reminded us that we were not facing this alone. Their kindness and guidance made an incredibly difficult time a little more manageable.

Sharing her story is important to us because charities like Young Lives vs Cancer provide vital support, fund research, and give families hope. By raising money, we hope to help other children and families facing their own cancer journey.

Thank you for following along!
