We're taking on the Kid's Summer Challenge for Young Lives vs Cancer.

Want to join us in supporting a good cause? We're taking on the Kid's Summer Challenge for Young Lives vs Cancer and your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate £5 or £500. Every little bit helps. Thank you for your support.

Young Lives vs Cancer help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. Make a donation and show your support today. 

  • £15 could go towards a grant to cover travel costs for long journeys to live saving treatment 
  • £26 could pay for an hour with a Young Lives vs Cancer Specialist Social Worker. They help families understand and cope with the emotional, practical and financial effects of cancer. 
  • £70 could pay for a night in a Young Lives vs Cancer Homes from Home, a free place for families to stay close to specialist hospitals when their child is going through treatment, keeping families together

Our last mile

Sunday 31st Aug
Well we’ve done it. 31 miles in August and a mile walked every day. We had a lovely last 1mile walk in the evening sunshine. We’ve also smashed our target to raise £150 and have a total of £211. Any last minute donations always gratefully received. We’ve loved our summer challenge. Xxx

The penultimate mile

Saturday 30th Aug
It’s been a very wet day today so we waited until a break in the showers to head out for our penultimate mile. Whilst out we received a donation that took us over our £150 target. We can’t thank our sponsors enough. We’ve enjoyed our summer challenge and will definitely be looking for another one next summer. Still time to donate before our last mile tomorrow. Xx

Walking update

Thursday 28th Aug
So sorry my updates have been non existent. Was a busy end of the holiday and then it’s always busy when you get home isn’t it. We finished off our French walks with a last early morning boulangerie trip for fresh crossaints. Since being back we've kept up with our miles every day be it together or individually. Just a few days to go now

A mile through the market

Sunday 17th Aug
Today’s mile was a very easy one strolling through the market of Sarlat…in 37 degree heat.

A rather humbling walk today

Tuesday 12th Aug
Today’s mile was walked around the German WWII battlefields.

Day 11

Monday 11th Aug
Today we went to a lovely French lake to walk our mile. It was rather hot but we had a lovely time.

Day 10. First mile in France

Sunday 10th Aug
After 500 miles travelling we had to make sure we got our mile in today. We are committed to getting these done every day. Scenery tonight was beautiful. Will post more photos over the coming days. If anyone would like to sponsor us we’d be extremely grateful. Xxx

Monday 4th Aug
A quick mile walk to post a parcel. I would normally have jumped in the car but was a good opportunity to get our mile done.

Sunday 3rd Aug
Two scooters and one on foot. Mile 3 done this morning nine and early. Thank you for all the donations so far.
