I'm running 100 miles for Young Lives vs Cancer.

I'm taking on the Run 100 Miles Challenge for Young Lives vs Cancer. I will be running 100 miles in October to support children and young people with cancer.

Young Lives vs Cancer help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. Make a donation and show your support today.

  • £26 could fund an hour of support from a Young Lives vs Cancer specialist social worker ensuring children, young people and families always have someone by their side throughout their cancer journey.
  • £70 could pay for a night in a Young Lives vs Cancer Homes from Home, a free place for families to stay close to specialist hospitals when their child is going through treatment, keeping families together

Join me in supporting a good cause, your contribution will make a big impact, whether you donate £5 or £500. Every little bit helps. Thank you for your support.

Introduction

Friday 3rd Oct
Eyup!
Painfully unprepared as ever but here is our (3 day late) introduction. We are Alex and Angela and we have signed up to run 100 miles in October for Young Lives vs Cancer. Why are we doing this? Well, those of you that know us will know that this is a charity very close to our hearts. Angela's so, Darwin was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma (a form of bone cancer) when he was 4 years old. In typical Darwin fashion, this wasn't just cancer, it was an aggressive, metastatic form of cancer that left with him with a very poor mortality percentage. (He never does things the easy way). Despite this extremely tough start to his young life, Darwin has always faced the world head on with spectacular resilience. He was told he may never walk properly, or live a normal life. F*CK that Darwin said. Instead, he managed to recover, play county level tennis for several years as a junior and recently, trekked to Mt Everest! Now 19 years old and thriving, in a nutshell, he's a chuffing legend and an inspiration to us all.
So basically, we thought we would put ourselves through a little bit of hardship for a few weeks to hopefully raise some Dosh for this incredible charity and do our Darwin proud! Thank you for taking the time to read my waffle. Anything you can give is incredible, regardless of the value. We will be aiming to post daily videos after the runs which for me (Alex), is a far bigger challenge than the run itself as I frigging hate being the centre of attention. Angela however, loves it (she doesn't). Any way, Cheers you legends!
