My target 100 mi

I'm walking 100 miles for Young Lives vs Cancer.

I'm taking on the Walk 100 Miles Challenge for Young Lives vs Cancer. I will be walking 100 miles in May to support children and young people with cancer.

Young Lives vs Cancer help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. Make a donation and show your support today.

  • £15 could go towards a grant to cover travel costs for long journeys to live saving treatment
  • £23 could pay for an hour with a Young Lives vs Cancer Specialist Social Worker. They help families understand and cope with the emotional, practical and financial effects of cancer.
  • £60 could pay for a night in a Young Lives vs Cancer Homes from Home, a free place for families to stay close to specialist hospitals when their child is going through treatment, keeping families together

Join me in supporting a good cause, your contribution will make a big impact, whether you donate £5 or £500. Every little bit helps. Thank you for your support.

My Updates

Day 21

Wednesday 21st May
So today I completed my longest walk of 9 km. At the beginning of this challenge I wouldn't of even contemplated going that fair or even been physically able to do that.

Halfway through

Friday 16th May
Today I made it to the halfway mark.
I never thought I'd enjoy walking as much as I am. Nothing beats being out in nature and the sunshine to help you feel so energised.

Day 14

Wednesday 14th May
14 days in and in over the moon I've hit the 45 mile mark.

Day 10

Saturday 10th May
10 days in and I'm absolutely loving this challenge.  My body aches however  my head has never felt so clear. I'm absolutely loving being outside walking through out beautiful village and surrounding areas.

Why I've taken on this challenge

Wednesday 7th May
As many people know I absolutely do not exercis, Well a few weeks ago I decided I needed to get fit. I've been to the gym once in my life and swear I'd never do it again, so I thought walking would be a good start, however I did one walking and didn't go again until I  signed up for this challenge.
The reason I signed up for this challenge is that I know of two families who have and are on this journey, and if I can help raise some money to help a family like theirs not have to worry about find the extra money for hospital visits and stays. Than my challenge will be worth every step.
