£341.49 incl gift aid raised! Super proud of Reeva! 😀

Thursday 5th Sep
Thank you so much for all the donations! Especially also friends who we haven’t seen in a while and kindly donated generously! It means a lot and is going to a worthy cause. The charity has raised over £200.000 through all the children’s effort to help families with children who need to undergo prolonged specialist cancer treatment and will make all the difference. Thanks again! P.S.: It‘s not too late to donate still.

We did it! Challenge completed! ✌🏻🏅

Sunday 1st Sep
Our final two walks! We did a walk around Hingham on Friday with friends and our final walk Reeva wanted to do when the sun set. 🌅 Incredible and very proud what she achieved as it was a major effort especially after long work days and having done a lot of exercise already on some of the days. 💪🏻 Link to the thank you message from the charity https://www.facebook.com/share/v/Qyf2vvU9TL6GwAMr/?

Days 27-29 - Almost there! 2 days to go!!!

Friday 30th Aug
We’ve been continuing! Wednesday we had Reeva’s friends over and went for a swim. We split up her daily mile into two bits and done half near the gym with her friend Millie and the other half at home! Thank you so much for all the donations. It kept us motivated and Reeva going! 🙏🏻

Days 25 & 26

Monday 26th Aug
Yesterday we did go back to the gym and Reeva decided the treadmill was the way to do it. We did a warm up on the stepper, she started on the treadmill & was about a quarter in and needed the toilet 🙈 So she started again & did quite a bit more than a mile. Hey, ho. Today we walked around the village at sunset which was quite nice. We ran into my colleague Jeremy at the church and had a quick chat. 5 more days to go!! Thanks for all the donations! Reeva is chuffed! 🙏🏻😀😘☺️

Day 24! We’re still at it!

Sunday 25th Aug
It’s been a busy week with the three new kittens and being back at work but we’ve been managing the daily mile. I find it’s a nice time to connect and chat at the end of the day (usally we do it late). Tuesday we went to Karate from 17:10-18:20! Reeva did 1 1/2 classes and then a swim lesson for 45mins. We were only home at 20:50 and still did the mile - in the dark with some light from her roller that lights up and it's attached bike lights! People must have thought there's an ambulance going through the village. 🤣🚨 In fact it was way more than a mile. A few times we did exactly the mile as it was late. Wednesday Reeva had a park date with her friends of which some supported her after the others have gone 🙏🏻🥰 Seven days left including today, which we’ve yet got to do.😀 Nearly there! Thanks for all the generous donations from friends and family 😘

Days 13-17

Saturday 17th Aug
Tues we did a pre-Lunch walk around the village, Weds we also walked (Reeva was at friends the other side of the village). On Thursday we went to London and walked nearly 10km! Yesterday we did a round trip to Leicester via Chatteris near Peterborough to pick up our latest addition to the family - 3 kittens! We only did exactly a 1mile quick run last night given that we walked so much the day before. Today we Did a 1.3m round around the village! Very proud, that we‘re still keeping it up! Pick from Thurs in Brick Lane, London.

Day 12 - Monday = beach day!

Tuesday 13th Aug
This was fun as it was literally low tide when we walked all the way to the sea and the image on the Nike app (iWatch was down due to low battery) thought we walked into the sea 🤣🤣🤣🏖️🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️🌊 We found all sorts of interesting sea creatures in the various water pools. 😀

Day 11 - Sunday late night walk

Tuesday 13th Aug
Despite the heat and spending the day at tue Cambridge computing museum, the Pirate outdoor playground with my friend Jeanette and her son Logan followed by a swim and play at the David Lloyd pool in Cambridge (great indoor kids water play area!), we still did our walk near Reeva‘s bedtime. 👌🏻

Day 10 on Sat

Tuesday 13th Aug
Never got around to post. Sat‘s walk after 45 mins Karate in the morning & Reeva‘s first swim gala where she competed in 5 races and came first in two and second on all other races in her category (8-9 yo‘s incl boys). We still managed to do our walk despite another leisure swim after but legs felt like led.

Company for day 9

Friday 9th Aug
Today we had company on our walk! Day 9 completed and 22 to go! 😀🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️ Maybe we manage to get my bike serviced to cycle one of the next few days 😀

Day 8

Friday 9th Aug
Yesterday was our 8th day! We did the actual 1 mile and no more walk along Mariott‘s Way after the rather strenuous 45min Karate lesson. Thanks for all the donations to far! 🙌🏻😘

One week completed!

Thursday 8th Aug
We’ve done our 7th day yesterday and have completed a whole week! We were quite chuffed. If we had a dog, we’d be in a habit of walking daily, but if that’s not something you’re used to, it does take some effort - esp on a busy work day and if there are other sports to accommodate. If I get my bike serviced, we might also mix in a bike ride this coming week. Off to do a walk later. 😀

Day 5 & 6 done - it was hard!

Wednesday 7th Aug
Day 5 was an easy pre-lunch stroll but we still had Karate on Monday. Yesterday I worked an extra shift in the hospital, so we were out of the house just after 7am & didn’t have time to do our walk in the morning. As I was running late after work my kind neighbour Sam picked Reeva up from holiday club and I spent 60 Seconds at home before dashing out with her to the 45min swim lesson 30mins drive away in the evening. We only got home at 20:50 and still did our walk! Dedication, as both of us were dead tired! Reeva more so as she just did the swim lesson and it was past her bedtime after an early morning start. But we did it and both went to sleep straight after. 💪🏻💤

Our first ever run together! 👟

Sunday 4th Aug
We’ve never run together, but as it was late and it was really almost bed time for Reeva, she suggested to run. I would have never thought she runs off (at speed!), wouldn’t need a break and we would do the 2.14km (1.3m) run around the village in only 13mins 30secs! I guess we might do more running from now on! 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️

Yesterday’s 1 mile walk after an intense 45min Karate lesson

Sunday 4th Aug
Since this is a challenge, we could have left if with the Karate lesson where we ran back and forth to cones for quite a while, but we decided to do a proper walk as well, so Mariotts Way it was. Lovely fresh air!

Second day and second early morning walk

Friday 2nd Aug
We are not usually the type to go for a walk early in the morning, especially on a day off, but we do it for a good cause and it’s good for the soul to walk on an early summer morning just as the sun is coming out ☀️

First day done!

Thursday 1st Aug
We kickstarted the August fundraising challenge with an early morning walk around the village which was really nice. 1.4miles done 😀💪🏻
