  • £15 could go towards a grant to cover travel costs for long journeys to live saving treatment
  • £26 could pay for an hour with a Young Lives vs Cancer Specialist Social Worker. They help families understand and cope with the emotional, practical and financial effects of cancer.
  • £70 could pay for a night in a Young Lives vs Cancer Homes from Home, a free place for families to stay close to specialist hospitals when their child is going through treatment, keeping families together

5 miles around Hollingworth Lake

Friday 8th Aug
Finley has smashed it again today adding another 5 miles onto the total. Two and a half times round the lake with a stop for ice-cream, one for throwing rocks in the water and one for the park. He said he liked this one because he didn't get out of breath. It was nice and flat compared to our usual Saddleworth rides. Jenson also got at least a mile in on his balance bike. Proud Daddy once again!

Real day 1 ride

Friday 1st Aug
Finley did another 4 miles today. The rain caught us on the way back but he wasn't fussed. Was a nice ride on a disused railway line. Had a nice sausage butty to from a nice guy in the butty van to keep him going. I got the usual "good ride daddy" from him when we got back to the car. Work for me all weekend now but back to it next week. 10 miles down now according to the total miles tracker. Also thank you to everyone who's donated so far.

Finleys first test ride

Wednesday 23rd Jul
Finley rode around 4.5 miles today from Greenfield up to Dovestone then round the ressi and back into Greenfield.

He was worried about how far 1 mile is so you should have seen his smile when i told him he had done 4.

Strava stopped tracking for some reason, so it only says 3.5 but we rode back to the starting point where we parked.

Now it's time to wash the bikes down and he's said he wants to do it again tomorrow!
