I’m taking on 100 Miles this March for Young Lives vs Cancer.

I’ll be completing 100 miles between 1st and 31st March to help raise vital funds for children and young people with cancer.

Young Lives vs Cancer help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. Make a donation and show your support today.

100 mile challenge

I'm taking on this challenge to mark 5 years since my daughter Saskia finished treatment for a malignant brain tumour when she was 16.
As a parent it was THE worst time in my life, and I only (just) held it together knowing there was light at the end of the tunnel.
Sas  went through brain surgery to remove the tumour at Sheffield Royal Hallamshire Hospital, IVF treatment at Jessops, followed by 6 weeks of chemo and proton beam therapy in Manchester (2 weeks in lock down hit...good times!!) then 9 cycles of chemo at the Sheffield Children's Hospital.
She started treatment just before her 17th birthday and finished just before her 18th.
Although her treatment ended 5 years ago, and only 1 more MRI to go, the hideous journey is imprinted on my brain forever.
Young lives V cancer (known as CLIC Sargent back then) were absolutely incredible and I'll be forever grateful of the support we received.
