I'm taking on the 30 Days of Fitness Challenge for Young Lives vs Cancer.

I'm taking on the 30 Days of Fitness Challenge for Young Lives vs Cancer. I'm taking this on to support children and young people with cancer. Join me in supporting a good cause, your contribution will make a big impact, whether you donate £5 or £500. Every little bit helps.

Every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer.

Young lives vs Cancer helps families find the strength to face everything cancer throws at them.

13 years ago we went on a family skiing holiday in bulgaria to see the new year 2010 in.

My sons best friend Alistair came with us (left in picture) little did we know then that this would be Alistair's last holiday.

A few months after the holiday Alistair was diagnosed with mouth cancer and sadly lost his battle at the age of 20 in November 2010.

The support Ali and his family received from young lives vs cancer (Clic Sargent) was outstanding he had his own nurses that were assigned to him and they were with him till the end.

So my challenge is for 30 days and by day 30 !! i want to have done 200,000 steps as well as improve my health and lose weight.

Anyone that knows me knows i don't do exercise, i don't go to a gym and the only workout I get daily is lifting a wine glass to my mouth!!

But that's all about to change and i want you to help me by donating to this amazing cause.

I want you to provide me with the motorvation i need to succeed.

People make new year's resolutions every january, i do every year and fail on day 2! okay maybe on day 1

Please donate and keep me on track i will give up dates along the way.

My challenge starts on Wednesday 1st January 2025

Thank you for all your support.

Day 2

Saturday 4th Jan
"I feel good"
Thursday 2nd January today i decided just to do the treadmill, wow this thing is a beast!!

I did manage to increase the speed to 4 it always looks easy when i see people on them and they are hands free!!! my hands were white through holding on.

But an hour later i had done 4 miles check me out, and was pretty pleased with the steps too.

Day 2 complete

Day 1

Saturday 4th Jan
Wednesday 1st January
Feeling motivated !! fitbit on let's do this??????
So I decided to go for a walk and get my steps that way before i upped my game to the treadmill i mean how hard can it be...........
So I checked my fitbit seemed okay but thought I'd done far more steps than it said but okay it must be right and i am fat and very unfit!!
So the treadmill was next hilarious i was holding on for dear life nearly face planted the floor twice " this is harder than i thought" at this rate i would be in A&E by teatime!! then i realised you can control the speed, dropping it right down to 3 i felt a little safer but still didnt let go.
Okay day 1 DONE  yay an hour seemed like a lifetime. I had only done 2 miles but it was a start.
With excitement i checked my steps "how have i only done 45 steps in an hour ???? HOW"
Spent the rest of the day trying to figure it out, with no joy that's the fitbit gone then.
I still took a photo of my steps even though i was upset back to my phone for steps on day 2, but this is a CHALLENGE after all!!
