Run 100 Miles in October 2026

I’m running 100 Miles in October for Young Lives vs Cancer.

I’ll be running 100 Miles in October, from the 1st to the 31st, to help raise vital funds for children and young people with cancer.

Young Lives vs Cancer help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. With practical and emotional support. With someone always there. A social worker that gets it.
With places to stay near hospitals. With campaigning to make health, welfare and social care work better. To champion, to problem solve and bring about change.

Every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. Make a donation and show your support today.

Just a £26 donation could fund an hour of support from a Young Lives vs Cancer specialist social worker, ensuring children, young people and families always have someone by their side throughout their cancer journey.

Thank you for your support.

My Updates

100 Miles. 31 Days. Zero Booze

Thursday 3rd Sep
This October I'm taking on my fourth charity challenge — running 100 miles during October for Young Lives vs Cancer.
I'll be fitting the miles around work and everyday life, running Monday to Friday and keeping my weekends free. And to make the commitment a little bigger, I've also decided there'll be no alcohol until mile 100 is finished.
But this isn't my first challenge.
So far I've completed:
12 Dips in December — £2,500 raised
10K Swim in July — £300 raised
14 Dips in February — £500 raised
That's £3,300 raised so far, and I'm incredibly grateful to everyone who has donated, supported me and, importantly, actually joined me in those challenges.
This one is going to be different.
This time, I'm doing it alone.
There won't be someone getting into the freezing water beside me or swimming alongside me. It's just going to be me, a pair of running shoes and 100 miles that need ticking off one by one.
There's also a very personal reason why supporting a children's cancer charity means something to me.
I've stood beside my son Daniel as he went through cancer treatment. I've seen him go through operations and chemotherapy, and I've had the privilege of standing next to him when he finally rang that bell at the end of his chemotherapy.
That's a moment you don't forget.
So when I'm tired, it's raining, my legs hurt and I don't particularly fancy another run, I'll have some perspective.
I get to choose to do something difficult.
Children and young people facing cancer don't get that choice.
That's why I'm supporting Young Lives vs Cancer, helping them support young people and their families through circumstances that can completely turn their lives upside down.
My previous challenges have shown me something else too: you don't have to do something extraordinary to make a difference. A lot of ordinary people putting in a few pounds, sharing a page, offering encouragement or joining someone in doing something difficult can collectively achieve something pretty significant.
We've already proved that with £3,300 raised.
Now I want to add to it.
So throughout October:
100 miles.
31 days.
No alcohol until mile 100.
One purpose.
I'll do the running.
If you'd like to be part of the challenge, a donation of any size or simply sharing this page would mean a lot to me.
And to everyone who has donated, supported me or stood beside me on one of the previous challenges:
Thank you. You helped make that £3,300 happen.
This time I might be running alone — but I certainly won't be doing it without your support.
Let's see how much more we can raise.
