I'm running 100 miles for Young Lives vs Cancer.

I'm taking on the Run 100 Miles Challenge for Young Lives vs Cancer. I will be running 100 miles in October to support children and young people with cancer. 

Young Lives vs Cancer help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. Make a donation and show your support today. 

  • £26 could fund an hour of support from a Young Lives vs Cancer specialist social worker ensuring children, young people and families always have someone by their side throughout their cancer journey.
  • £70 could pay for a night in a Young Lives vs Cancer Homes from Home, a free place for families to stay close to specialist hospitals when their child is going through treatment, keeping families together

💛🎗Running 100 Miles for Archie & Young Lives vs Cancer 🎗💛

This October, I’ll be running 100 miles in honour of a very brave little boy called Archie, who is just 6 years old.

Last year, in June, just before his 5th birthday, Archie was diagnosed with T-Cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy, which is due to finish in October 2027. He shows incredible courage every single day. He manages to continue to smile and laugh despite everything he is going through. Archie is also non-verbal & Autistic so adapting to his new normal has been a challenge, but he has taken it in his stride. 

From the moment of diagnosis, Young Lives vs Cancer have been there for Archie and his family – his mum Demi, dad Tom and Nan Rose. They have:

✨ Provided grants while Archie was in hospital so his family could stay nearby and be together.

✨ Helped with housing challenges during such a stressful time.

✨ Organised days out and treats for Archie to lift his spirits in between tough treatments.

✨️Provided a Social Work who supported with referrals for physiology, letters, and evidence for further financial support & housing issues they faced.

And more! 

But their support goes beyond families like Archie’s. Young Lives vs Cancer also fund vital research into finding new treatments and cures for children and young people facing cancer, giving hope for a brighter future. Did you know that less than 4% of cancer research funding goes towards children's cancer research.  Shocking, right? 

Every step I take in October is for Archie and for all the other children and families going through the unimaginable. 💪
