I'm running 147 miles for Young Lives vs Cancer.

I'm taking on the Run 100 Miles Challenge for Young Lives vs Cancer. I will be running 147 miles in October to support children and young people with cancer. 

Young Lives vs Cancer help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. Make a donation and show your support today. 

  • £26 could fund an hour of support from a Young Lives vs Cancer specialist social worker ensuring children, young people and families always have someone by their side throughout their cancer journey.
  • £70 could pay for a night in a Young Lives vs Cancer Homes from Home, a free place for families to stay close to specialist hospitals when their child is going through treatment, keeping families together

My challenge

I first competed in my 1st marathon in April doing the Brighton Marathon which was gruelling in itself. But I've enjoyed getting out and running.
I entered my family into the big mile in London at the start of September and being able to run it with them and see how much they enjoyed it and how proud I felt seeing them cross the line with me and my wife made me want to take on this challenge and raise as much money as I can for such a great cause. 

I have some very generous family and friends who have supported me and donated already, that and also I wanted to challenge myself even more and pledged to run an extra mile with every £2 I reached over my goal.  Once my work had found out about it then they put in a big donation which I'm happy about but will now be running an extra 47 miles on top of it. 
It's inspired my 7 year old little girl to run a mile every day too and do her own little challenge. We've promised her if she completes it then we will donate for her on my page as well.
