Help me reach my goal of £500

I'm taking on the Hair-Raiser Challenge for Young Lives vs Cancer.

Want to join me in supporting a good cause? This September, I'm taking on the Hair-Raiser Challenge during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. I am joining hundreads of others who are shaving, cutting, dying or styling their hair for Young Lives vs Cancer. 

When a child is diagnosed with cancer life becomes full of fear, for them and their family. Fear of treatment, but also of families being torn apart, overwhelming money worries, of having nowhere to turn, no one to talk to.

Young Lives vs Cancer, help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer.

Your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate £5 or £500. Every little bit helps.

Together, we can raise awareness and funds to support children and young people with cancer.

Thank you so much to all of those who have donated so far. Your generosity is much appreciated. I am delighted to share the following message from Young Lives vs Cancer:

‘Hi Deborah Wallis this looks amazing. How are you liking your new do? Over £440 already is incredible, well done and thank you. Just so you know the total so far could pay for a weeks stay for a family in one of our Homes from Home, so you have already made a massive difference, thank you 🙂’

Whilst the challenge takes place in September, I will keep this fundraiser open beyond that date.

Fundraiser update 08/09/24

Hi all,
Another quick update on this fundraiser., with a slight ‘woe is me’ message!

Some people may be aware that I have a fractured fibula. From an ultrasound (9am on a Sunday 😱) it is confirmed that I have multiple fractures including tibia and metatarsals. Whilst my lower regions are failing, my fundraising hair plans will continue!

Advice for all, but particularly women - take plenty of calcium and vitamin D to avoid such issues.

After a consultation with my hairdresser, it is now confirmed that it will be a pixie cut with pink and green highlights. I will post updates after the ‘event’ on 19th September.

Hair-Raiser ‘plan’!

Hi all,

Many thanks for taking a look at this page. It is such an important cancer charity (as are so many others). We have had many personal experiences /family and friends of all ages affected, so this is a cause close to my heart and I would like to contribute to making a difference, however small.

I have not yet decided exactly what to do with my hair. I would be happy to shave - again - but my daughter does not approve!  However,, Emily has some ideas about colour - she currently loves frogs so there might be some green in there! Any suggestions appreciated!

Please do consider donating and also please share. I am not a social media person (I only have FB and rarely engage), so any help would be fantastic.
