I'm taking on the Cycle 300km for Young Lives vs Cancer.

I'm taking on the Cycle 300km Challenge for Young Lives vs Cancer in August.
Join me in supporting a good cause and your contribution will make a big impact to children and young people with cancer. 

Young Lives vs Cancer help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. Make a donation and show your support today. 

  • £15 could go towards a grant to cover travel costs for long journeys to live saving treatment 
  • £26 could pay for an hour with a Young Lives vs Cancer Specialist Social Worker. They help families understand and cope with the emotional, practical and financial effects of cancer. 
  • £70 could pay for a night in a Young Lives vs Cancer Homes from Home, a free place for families to stay close to specialist hospitals when their child is going through treatment, keeping families together.

Something easy to help fight something hard

Cancer will touch us all at some point in our lives, whether it is us, a loved one or a friend.  For a young person to be diagnosed is one of the most difficult and cruellest blows to be dealt, for them, their family and friends. 
My sister, Victoria, was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma,  an aggressive bone cancer, when she was just 22.  She endured multiple rounds of chemotherapy, limb salvage surgery, tumours removed from her lung, and her brain as the cancer came back again and again. 
She lost her courageous battle 4 years later on Boxing Day 2008.  She was the bravest, kindest, gentlest, and most caring person I have known, and she faced cancer head-on with dignity and a strength I could never imagine having.  

Young Lives vs Cancer is a UK charity that provides support to children and young people (0-25) facing cancer, and their families. Their mission is to ensure that no young person faces cancer alone, and they offer a range of services to ease the emotional and practical impact of cancer. This includes financial assistance, social work support, "Homes from Home" near hospitals, specialised services for teenagers and young adults. 
 
I will be cycling at least 300km throughout Aug for this cause and in memory of Vix, my sister and best pal.  
Cycling is easy, giving money is easy, and helping those going through one of life's hardest things is easy. Please support this charity.
