I'm taking on the 30 Days of Fitness Challenge for Young Lives vs Cancer.  This charity helped and supported my brother and family whilst he underwent Radiotherapy in Manchester for 6 weeks.

Zack was diagnosed with a rare brain tumour at the age of 5, he got surgery to remove half of the tumour. A few years later they found it was growing again so in February 2024 Zack underwent a 2nd surgery that managed to remove 98% of the tumour.

After the 2nd surgery the tumour grew again, it was then decided the best course of action was for Zack to undergo Proton Beam Radio Therapy. He went to Manchester for 6 weeks and handled the Radiotherapy like a champ.

We are still waiting for Zack to have his scan to let us know how well the Radiotherapy has changed things but we are hoping this will be the end of a very hard journey for him.

Even through everything, you will hardly ever hear Zack complaining, he strides through it and never let's it get him down, always always see's the positive side of the medical treatments, and even helps calm us down at times!

£23 could pay for an hour of support from a Young Lives vs Cancer social worker, so that children and young people with cancer, and their families, get the right care and support at the right time

£60 could pay for a night in a Young Lives vs Cancer Homes from Home, a free place for families to stay close to specialist hospitals when their child is going through treatment, keeping families together
