- £15 could go towards a grant to cover travel costs for long journeys to live saving treatment
- £26 could pay for an hour with a Young Lives vs Cancer Specialist Social Worker. They help families understand and cope with the emotional, practical and financial effects of cancer.
- £70 could pay for a night in a Young Lives vs Cancer Homes from Home, a free place for families to stay close to specialist hospitals when their child is going through treatment, keeping families together

🚶♀️🏃♀️ The Queen of Hearts Takes London (and a Few Miles More!)
Sunday 10th Aug Sorry for the radio silence — it’s been a whirlwind 10 days since we kicked off our Young Lives vs Cancer challenge! We’ve been clocking up the miles and pounding the pavement so much that we’ve barely had time to catch our breath, let alone write about it.Aria has taken it all in her stride — quite literally. Even on the days when she’s been tired from her summer holiday adventures, she’s still popped on her trainers and headed out, proving she’s got the heart (and determination) of a champion.
Our first week was a mix of run days, walks with Auntie, meet-ups with friends and cousins, and of course, plenty of moral support from Dad and baby sister along the way.
But this week, we wanted to mix it up a bit… so we headed to our favourite UK city — London! Knowing it would be a great way to get the miles in and see some amazing sights, we set out to walk our little socks off — and we did!
First pit stop a trip to the thearte to see Alice in Wonderland this set us right up to crack on with the day! From the leafy paths and peaceful waters of Hyde Park (special shout-out to our favourite find — The Serpentine!) to the kaleidoscope of colour at Leake Street Arches, where street art bursts to life on every wall and all the bits in between, our eyes and step counters were working overtime. By the end of the day, we’d racked up a whopping 11 miles in 12 hours. Not bad for a day out in the capital!
We’re doing this challenge to help Young Lives vs Cancer, a charity that offers vital support to children and young people facing cancer, and their families. Every mile we walk or run is for those who can’t right now — to raise awareness, funds, and hope.
