I’m taking on the Kid's Summer Challenge for Young Lives vs Cancer.

I’ve wanted to raise money for charity for ages and when we saw the Kid's Summer Challenge, we knew it was the perfect fit! 

Throughout August, I will be walking, running or scooting at least 1 mile a day to raise money for Young Lives vs Cancer - a cause very close to my heart. 

With Mum’s experience of cancer and now Grandad’s, I don’t think anyone - especially children - should have to go through it. I want to help however I can.

Young Lives vs Cancer help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. Make a donation and show your support today. 

  • £15 could go towards a grant to cover travel costs for long journeys to live saving treatment 
  • £26 could pay for an hour with a Young Lives vs Cancer Specialist Social Worker. They help families understand and cope with the emotional, practical and financial effects of cancer. 
  • £70 could pay for a night in a Young Lives vs Cancer Homes from Home, a free place for families to stay close to specialist hospitals when their child is going through treatment, keeping families together

Guess what? I’ve officially reached my target of 62 miles — and together we’ve raised an amazing £1,090 for Young Lives vs Cancer! 🩷
There are still 2 days to go, and even though I’ve hit my goal, I’m not stopping. Every extra mile means more support for children and families who need it most.

🍓From Cream Tea to River Paddle💦: 32 Miles Done!

Sunday 17th Aug
Hi Everyone! Yesterday was the halfway point of my Kids Summer Challenge and we celebrated with an awesome 6-mile walk on Dartmoor. I loved hearing Dad tell me the legend of the Wisht Hounds of Wistman’s Wood! 🐺🌳 We started with a yummy cream tea (I did half with jam first and half with cream first – because Mum’s Cornish and Dad’s from Devon, so I had to keep the peace 😆🍓🍦) and ended with a splashy paddle in the river. Even Mabel was super tired by the end! 🐶💦 Today’s walk means I’ve now done 32 miles – that’s the challenge target already! 🎉 But I’m not stopping here… with plenty of days left, I think I can reach at least 50 miles before the end of the month. Thank you so much to everyone who has sponsored me so far – your kindness has blown us away. Hi everyone! 👋💖

Thanks again to everyone who’s sponsored me 🤗! I’ve been scooting, walking, and I even went on an inflatable obstacle course in the rain ☔️😳… in FREEZING COLD WATER!!! 💧🥶😱

The challenge is pretty hard 🫥, but I’m raising loads of money thanks to you amazing people ❤️😁. So far I’ve walked, swum, and scooted 12 miles and raised £624! 🎉

☀️Day 1 of My Young Lives vs Cancer Summer Challenge! 🐾

Friday 1st Aug
Today was the first day of my Summer Challenge for Young Lives vs Cancer and it was AMAZING! 🎉 We walked 2 miles with Mabel (she's the best dog ever 🐶), and it felt like a real adventure! On the way, we climbed trees like monkeys 🐒, played at the park, and even stopped at the pet shop café for pancakes and milkshakes. YUM! 🥞🥤 Mabel got a little treat too – she was very happy! Thank you SO much to everyone who sponsored me – you're helping a really great cause, and I’m just getting started! 💪💜 More fun to come over the weekend... stay tuned! Love, Li 🩷💜

Thank you soooo much for sponsoring me! I’m really excited to do this walking challenge and help raise money for children and families who are going through cancer.

I’m going to be doing LOTS of walking! 🏃‍♀️ My legs might get tired, but I’m doing it to help kids who are really sick. I want to make them feel better and let them know people care. 💖
