Today’s a great day. We’ve raised £403 of our £250 target. AND this doesn’t even include the offline sponsors!

Any contribution is amazing but we are just so over the moon with that!

Day 6 Blog 🩷

Tuesday 6th May
Following our rest day yesterday, we were up and out bright and early for our walk/run this morning!

This is day 6 of our walking challenge but we’ve also realised today that this is our 4th week of our morning runs! So proud of us.

There is no one I’d rather be doing all of this with. When the days are brighter and you’re walking and chatting with your best friend, it just feels so easy! And raising money at the same time, it’s just a no brainer.

Thank you everyone for your donations so far🩷

Day 5 Blog🩷

Tuesday 6th May
For day 5, we decided on having a rest day. A couple reasons for this:
I wanted to have a day where I could solely be with my children, we were feeling under the weather anyway so we have a big lazy day and spent time together.
And for Vicky, she has dislocated her knee twice in the space of not even a year and I think a days rest was well needed for her.

With that being said, we self donated and we were still on the phone to each other, coming up with ideas on how to increase our mile count. We are planning a huge walk (just over 4 hours and that’s just one way!) in the next week or 2 and we are super excited for this!

Day 4 Blog 🩷

Tuesday 6th May
Busy bank holiday weekend so I’ve only just managed to get around posting our day 4 figures.

Still going. Even more motivated than we were before. It feels great to be doing our bit to support this charity.

Thank you for your continued support. Please donate today to support Young Lives vs Cancer.

Day 3 Blog🩷

Saturday 3rd May
Another day of BEAUTIFUL weather, which is making the walks so much easier!

We walked separately today as we both had our own plans. We still got the job done!

Thank you to everyone who are continuing to donate. We really are blown away that we have raised more than our target amount. That wouldn’t be possible without you.

Can’t wait to see what difference the money we have all raised together makes to Young Lives vs Cancer🩷

Day 2 Blog🩷

Friday 2nd May
Day 2 and what a gorgeous day for it!

There’s something very special about being up and out in the morning on days like today. You’re up before most people are and get to enjoy the peace before the chaos of the day begins. Not to mention the friendlier people in the mornings walking their dogs!

Super proud of us and the awareness we are raising for such a great cause.

Decided to upload the images and blog separately as the formatting wasn’t working for me! (I’m very fussy😂)

Vicky hit 4.15 miles and I hit 4.06 miles today. There are two images as although we are walking together, we have our own individual goal which is hitting the 100 miles by the end of May!

29 days to go and loving every second!

Day 1 - Let’s Go!

Friday 2nd May
Day 1 is finally here! I forgot to post our first day yesterday, therefore I will be posting twice today of yesterdays activity and this mornings. This day has been in the making for us for the last few weeks as we were getting a little bit of training in by getting up and meeting at 6:30am Monday-Friday for walks and runs. Starting the month off strong and a massive bonus is how beautiful the weather is during our walks in the mornings! I’ve shown on the picture our individual achievements and this 100 miles is the goal for us both. Super excited for the month ahead and super proud of us! Thank you so much to everyone who had sponsored us and all the money donated so far. You are all amazing and we couldn’t have done this and smashed our target without you all. Holly & Vicky X

Who We Are & Why Young Lives vs Cancer

Tuesday 22nd Apr

Hi everyone, thank you for taking the time to view our fundraiser page!

Firstly, we wanted to start with a bit of an introduction and why we chose to take part in this challenge for this charity.

We are Holly & Vicky. We are both 30 years old and have been best friends for 28 years. We’ve always wanted to take part in a challenge together and what better way to do it than for a charity close to our hearts. Not only will this be a personal achievement for us, as this is not something we’ve done before, but an even greater achievement as we are looking to raise as much money as we can for such a great cause.

Why Young Lives vs Cancer?
The older we have got, the greater the realisation we have that cancer has no age limits. No one is safe from it or exempt.

By us raising money, we hope for babies and young people to have the best help, equipment and care they need to fight this heartbreaking disease.

Thousands and thousands of people are affected by cancer, whether you are the patient or the family members, and we hope to be able to provide the best support for them by taking part in this challenge this May.

Please join us as we take part in the Walk 100 Miles Challenge for Young Lives vs Cancer. We will be walking 100 miles in May to support children and young people with cancer.

Every single day 12 more children and young people will hear the devastating news that they have cancer.

Make a donation and show your support today. Please see below what your donations could go towards:

• £15 could go towards a grant to cover travel costs for long journeys to live saving treatment

• £23 could pay for an hour with a Young Lives vs Cancer Specialist Social Worker. They help families understand and cope with the emotional, practical and financial effects of cancer.

• £60 could pay for a night in a Young Lives vs Cancer Homes from Home, a free place for families to stay close to specialist hospitals when their child is going through treatment, keeping families together

Help us raise awareness & donate as much or as little as you possibly can, as every little helps, to give our young people and future young people the best start in life.

We appreciate your support!
