I'm walking 30 miles in November for Young Lives vs Cancer.

I’m taking on Walk 30 Miles in November for Young Lives vs Cancer. I will be walking 30 miles this November to support children and young people with cancer.

Young Lives vs Cancer help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. Make a donation and show your support today.

Just a £26 donation could fund an hour of support from a Young Lives vs Cancer specialist social worker ensuring children, young people and families always have someone by their side throughout their cancer journey.

Thank you for your support.

My Updates

About me...

Friday 31st Oct
Ok so thought I'd just post a little about myself and why I've decided to take up this November fundraising challenge.

So I'm John, I'm 39 years old and a Divorced Dad of 2 amazing kids (10yo and 8yo).

So onto why I am doing this... There is a multitude of reasons for me wanting to do this, the main one being that as a Father I could not imagine either of my children having to go through Cancer, but if they ever did (god forbid) I'm glad to know there are things like this that helps support families throughout the battle with cancer. So what better reason to help this amazing charity?!

Other reasons I am doing this... Back in 2011 I lost my own mum to cancer. And to be honest and upfront, it was the worst trauma I have ever experienced in my life. I would not wish that upon anyone or anyone's family. So I have always tried my best to support charities involved in Cancer where I can.

I also am a long-term sufferer of Mental Health, including Severe Anxiety and Depression. I find that helping others and giving back to great causes helps my mental health. I'm also hugely empathetic and currently enrolled to become a Counsellor for Children and Mental Health.

Anyway thanks for taking the time to read my little blog.
