I’m taking on 5k a Day in June for Young Lives vs Cancer.
I’ll be completing 5k every day from 1st to 30th June to help raise vital funds for children and young people with cancer.
Young Lives vs Cancer help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. Make a donation and show your support today.
Just a £26 donation could fund an hour of support from a Young Lives vs Cancer specialist social worker, ensuring children, young people and families always have someone by their side throughout their cancer journey.
Thank you for your support.

My Updates
More than half way through!
Friday 19th Jun Hello everyone! Unfortunately, I pulled a muscle in my leg whilst running last week, which is why I’ve had to take it a bit easier over the last few days. However, I’ve still been cycling up the hill to work every day and hope that I can start running again from tomorrow, as the Oxford Park Run is taking place again. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I’ll be able to get back to being more active, and we‘re always grateful for any support, even if it’s just a small donation! A huge thank you to everyone who supports ‘Young Lives vs Cancer’, and to all the wonderful staff who help young cancer patients in need. They do outstanding work and deserve my utmost respect. Hope to see you soon, Julia xx Share
One week into the challenge
Monday 8th Jun Hi, everyone! A week has already gone by, and I’ve managed to move at least 5 km every day. I’m super proud of my progress, because on Saturday I completed my first 5 km in under 25 minutes. Yesterday we resumed our rowing training and covered 8 km (unfortunately, rowing isn’t an option in the activity settings, so I logged it as a walk). I’m excited to start this week feeling fit and motivated, and I hope the weather gets better soon! Please support us on this journey and help “Young Lives vs Cancer” with a small donation. We’re grateful for every single pound. Thank you so much, and hopefully see you again soon here on the blog xx Julia Share
4 days into the challenge
Thursday 4th Jun
First day of “5k everyday in June“
Monday 1st Jun Hi everyone! This is my first blog post here on my profile, and as today is 1 June, the 5km challenge has begun – and I’ve already clocked up over 7km today by cycling to work instead of taking the bus. By the way: I work in a cancer research lab in Oxford, focusing on leukaemia and lymphomas. If you’d like to support the research and all the people fighting cancer, please help me with this fundraising campaign by making a donation. Even a small donation can make a big difference!Share
