I'm taking on 100 miles in March for Young Lives vs Cancer.

I’m taking on 100 Miles this March for Young Lives vs Cancer.

I’ll be completing 100 miles between 1st and 31st March to help raise vital funds for children and young people with cancer.

Young Lives vs Cancer help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. Make a donation and show your support today.

Just a £26 donation could fund an hour of support from a Young Lives vs Cancer specialist social worker ensuring children, young people and families always have someone by their side throughout their cancer journey.

Thank you for your support.

100 Miles in March – Nearly There 💛

Monday 23rd Mar

I can’t quite believe it… I’ve completed 95.75 miles, with just 4.25 miles left to reach my 100-mile goal this March! 🎉

I’ve been doing this to support children and young people facing cancer — and the reality is heart-breaking.

Today, 12 children and young people will hear they have cancer. In an instant, their whole world is turned upside down. Playtime stops. Independence is taken. Confidence is shaken. It can mean years of missed education, careers put on hold before they’ve even begun, and families facing growing financial pressure.

The impact of cancer on young lives goes far beyond medical treatment — and that’s why this cause matters so much.

Families often have to travel miles from home for treatment, facing early mornings, long days in hospital, and exhausting journeys back late at night. Parents sleep in uncomfortable hospital chairs while worrying about the cost of petrol, food, and somewhere to stay. Siblings are left at home, and families are separated when they need each other most.

But support like this can change everything.

It helps families stay in “Homes from Home” near hospitals — a warm, welcoming place where they can be together. A place for a proper meal, a bedtime story, and small but important moments of normality during such an uncertain time.

Young Lives vs Cancer is the only UK charity with specialist social workers dedicated to supporting children and young people with cancer and their families — helping them navigate both the emotional and practical challenges, and making sure their voices are heard.

So far, I’ve raised £184 out of my £300 target, and I’m so grateful for all the support 💛

If you’re able to help me reach my goal and support these families, I’d really appreciate it — every donation truly makes a difference.

100 Miles in March – Week 1 Update

Monday 9th Mar

My first week taking on the 100 Miles in March challenge has been a great start — and it also happens to be my first week working with Young Lives vs Cancer.

So far, I’ve completed 33 miles through a lot of walking, and thanks to some incredibly generous support I’ve already raised £184 of my £300 target. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated or shared encouragement — it really does make a difference.

Starting this role has also given me the chance to learn more about the incredible support the charity provides to children and young people facing cancer, and to their families. From social work support to practical and emotional help, the charity supports families through some of the toughest moments of their lives.

Knowing the impact this support has makes every mile feel even more worthwhile.

There are 67 miles still to go, and I’m hoping to mix some running in with the walking this week to keep the momentum going.

Thank you again to everyone supporting me so far — every donation helps Young Lives vs Cancer continue to be there for families when they need it most.
