I'm walking 100 miles for Young Lives vs Cancer.

I'm taking on the Walk 100 Miles Challenge for Young Lives vs Cancer. I will be walking 100 miles in May to support children and young people with cancer. 

Young Lives vs Cancer help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. Make a donation and show your support today. 

  • £15 could go towards a grant to cover travel costs for long journeys to live saving treatment 
  • £23 could pay for an hour with a Young Lives vs Cancer Specialist Social Worker. They help families understand and cope with the emotional, practical and financial effects of cancer. 
  • £60 could pay for a night in a Young Lives vs Cancer Homes from Home, a free place for families to stay close to specialist hospitals when their child is going through treatment, keeping families together

Day 30

Saturday 31st May
My son was feeling better today so we kept our plans of meeting his cousin and we went to the park. We then walked home so added 4 miles to the total.

Day 29

Saturday 31st May
My son wasn't very well so we did a little walk over to the GP surgery and then collected his prescription but while we waited I took him over to the park. We then met my mum for lunch and walked home.

Day 28 - 100 miles completed 💪

Thank you to everyone who has donated to me, followed my progress and offered support in so many different ways. Your generosity has allowed me to raise £288 to support children and young people with their battle against cancer. THANK YOU 😊 ❤️

Wednesday 28th May
Over 4 mile walk today around Brighton with the family and I have officially reached my 100 miles goal. With three days left to go, I'm going to see how many more miles I can add to my total.

Tuesday 27th May
Today we walked over 5 miles around Brighton and got caught in the rain 🌧 🤭

Monday 26th May
Today I have been away with family and did over 4miles walking. I also did afew other walks but didn't have full map pictures to share with you all.

Sunday 25th May
Today while the boys did their park run I walked 2 miles around the park in the rain.

Saturday 24th May
It's a bit of a slow start to the half term break with just one walk today but I have some fun things planned for this week and I'm sure I will be able to add the miles quickly.

Day 19

Monday 19th May
So today I did my usual morning walk and then had to go watch my sons school assembly, after it was finished I had over an hour to kill so I walked in a loop around the local area. ✅️73.62 miles complete. Nearly there!!

Day 18

Monday 19th May
Sunday I walked around the park while the boys did their park run, then walked to the shops and then after that I walked home from lewsey farm to dunstable. When I got home my boy was at the park so I also walked an additional 0.88 miles on top of the three walks.

Day 17

Saturday 17th May
I don't have a personal map of my progress today but we walked around gullivers land from 10.30am until 5pm. Over 7000 steps and approximately 2.5 miles covered today.

Day 16

Friday 16th May
After a busy week, I got the bus directly home today and wasn't going to do a second walk. After i had my dinner and my son went to bed I though I better get up and keep going so I got my trainers on and went for a walk. 👣 4.91 miles completed today 💪

Today i walked 3.75 miles

The best thing about this challenge is getting out and about and connecting with the outside world. What a boast to your wellbeing!

Wednesday 14th May
Today I have walked three times and have completed 4.47 miles. ✅️50 miles officially completed 🙌

Day 13

Tuesday 13th May
Today I didn't feel up to doing any big walks and only managed to complete the school runs. (Adding 2.38 miles to my total) tomorrow I will get back on track and get the miles in! 

Day 12

Monday 12th May
Two walks today and completed 3.47 miles. Nearly at the half way mark

Day 10 & 11

Sunday 11th May
Yesterday we went on a family walk instead of driving the car and walked 2.97 Miles. This morning I walked around the park with my mum while the boys did their park run and then took myself on a local walk this evening to make up the miles. This weekend I completed a total of 6.56 Miles.

Day 9

Sunday 11th May
Over the last few days I have started to have some fibromyalgia pain and not feeling to well, so I only completed one walk of 1.62 Miles. I didn't want to push myself to far as my hip and legs are feeling painful. With some rest this evening I will get back to my challenge over the weekend.

Two small walks today and completed 3.01 miles.

3.01 Miles done over three walks today.

Three walks today and just over 5 miles completed!

Just a short walk today. Completed 1.97 miles.

Sunday 4th May
Two walks today to complete an amazing 5.23 miles. Again I was kept company by family along my routes 😊
