Support my World Cancer Day Dip

I'm taking on a Cold Water Dip Challenge for Young Lives vs Cancer this World Cancer Day. Join me in supporting a good cause and your contribution will make a big impact to children and young people with cancer. Whether you donate £5 or £500, every little bit helps. Thank you for your support.

Children and young people with cancer are facing a hard winter. Instead of making precious memories with their family, treatment means that they’re facing weeks spent many miles from home.

But cancer doesn’t have to mean families are torn apart. That special moments are lost. You can keep families together this winter.

£23 could pay for an hour of support from a Young Lives vs Cancer social worker, so that children and young people with cancer, and their families, get the right care and support at the right time

£60 could pay for a night in a Young Lives vs Cancer Homes from Home, a free place for families to stay close to specialist hospitals when their child is going through treatment, keeping families together

Life is precious & good health can be taken from anyone at any moment in time. It's therefore important to do meaningful things when we are able to do so. 
A few of my family members have had cancer in their lifetime, unfortunately some passed away & I also know young women that have also been affected by cancer & thanks to treatment are still living a full & happy life today. 
I have tried to raise awareness in raising money for Cancer previously by doing a head shave to a buzz cut, doing a dance-a-thon, swimming the length of Loch Ness (23 miles) in my local pool & now this new challenge of hot to chilled in a matter of seconds! 
I've always enjoyed swimming, but since Summer '24  I took up a new hobby of Wild Water Swimming a new found love. It's taken me to beautiful spots around Scotland & I've met many lovely people en route. It's a sheer delight to get into that water & soak up nature at its best! The water has magical powers & have really helped some of my peri-menopausal symptoms. 
So now my latest challenge hot sauna to chilled cold tub & repeat! The Scandinavians do this every morning, so now it's my time to try it & raise a little more money for my chosen charity which has always been about Cancer. Let's raise awareness & get the science to treat, and slow down this awful disease help keep our loved ones living their best lives, and now it's time to support those young lives who have it.
