My target 100 mi

I'm running 100 miles for Young Lives vs Cancer.

I'm taking on the Run 100 Miles Challenge for Young Lives vs Cancer. I will be running 100 miles in March to support children and young people with cancer.

Young Lives vs Cancer help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. Make a donation and show your support today.

  • £20 could pay for a coat for a child or young person with cancer, to help keep them warm through the winter months when they really feel the cold due to treatment
  • £60 could pay for a night in a Young Lives vs Cancer Homes from Home, a free place for families to stay close to specialist hospitals when their child is going through treatment, keeping families together

Join me in supporting a good cause, your contribution will make a big impact, whether you donate £5 or £500. Every little bit helps. Thank you for your support.

My Updates

106 miles in March

Monday 31st Mar

Progress

Friday 21st Mar
Around the 75 mile mark now which is made up from running then alot of walking. Found it hard finding some alone time with the little one to get the runs in so been going for walks with him instead. 10 days to go and we are going to aim for the majority of the remaining 25 miles to be faster than a walk 🤞

Day 5

Wednesday 5th Mar
With just under 15 miles in the bag, I've just over 10 miles to run over day 6 & 7 to stay on target (25 miles per week). Hoping to make it off the treadmill and onto the streets next week and try some outdoor running :)

Rest day but not resting

Rest day but not resting

Monday 3rd Mar
So today was going to be a rest day but I was worried if I stopped completely I'd not start again very easily so I needed to keep those muscles used to the exercise. Although I've not ran today, I've brisk walked from home to monks cross and back which clocked 4 miles round trip. Something I wouldn't usually do, so I'm adding these miles to my challenge.

Day 1 - Test Run - Wee man cheering me on

Thursday 27th Feb
My first run since becoming pregnant in November 23, if not longer. Only had a small window before little one woke so 3.5k in 30 minutes, I'll take that although my PB is 5k in 29 minutes so that's where I'm aiming to be at the end of this challenge. Thanks for the sponsors so far and if you would like to sponsor me, no matter how small then please follow the link to my page.

The beginning

Monday 17th Feb
Today, I sat thinking about what I could do to kick start my fitness journey then I saw this challenge and thought yes, that will be a challenge, a good one and for a fab cause.
I've not ran for quite some time now.
My eldest is 5 and youngest 6 months so I'd say I'm just about ready again, ready to put those running shoes back on and try and smash 100 miles in 31 days - March.
Now to dig out the old gym gear :)
