Mile 14 Complete!

Thursday 14th Aug This evening after tea, Jennifer went out on her scooter, again, to school and back with her dad to complete her mile. She came rushing in and said, “Do you want to hear the good news?!!” Basically they got talking to a couple called Garfield and Miranda who after hearing about the challenge very kindly sponsored Jen right there and then in the street! How generous and wonderful is that!!! ❤️ Share

Thursday 14th Aug The real challenge is posting daily updates! 😉🤣 But, please be rest assured that Jennifer is still keeping up her daily mile with enthusiasm, even if it means a post tea time scoot and very hot midday bike ride, in order to fit them in!! 😉🤣 Share

Mile 11 Complete!

Tuesday 12th Aug Late updating, but yesterday Jennifer completed 250m in the pool during her swimming lesson and the rest of the mile walking Penny with Grandad. Share

Sunday 10th Aug Cuddle stops with Pip! We are really going to miss her next week! She’s completed 3 miles with us! Share

Saturday 9th Aug We saw a pair of large birds of pray on our walk this morning, we must have spooked them as we walked past the woods and they flew right past us! Share

Tuesday 5th Aug I fastened my Garmin to Jen while she ran round soft play with her friend Thea for 2 hours, but annoyingly the battery died and didn’t record, but their sweaty faces and damp hair were enough to prove it! Share

Monday 4th Aug Lovely to have some company today from Donna and Darcie who came to support us on our 4th mile. We enjoyed getting out after Storm Floris had blown over. Share

A Mile A Day - All August Long!

This summer my daughter, Jennifer (7) and I are taking part in the Summer Kids Challenge 2025 to raise money for Young Lives vs Cancer – and we couldn’t be more excited!

The challenge? To walk, run, skip, or swim a mile every day throughout August. That’s 31 miles in 31 days – and we’re ready to go!

We know that summer is a time to enjoy the sunshine, be active, and make memories – it breaks my heart that there’s children and families out there that this just isn’t the case, so we wanted to use our summer holidays to help children and families who are going through some of the toughest times?

Jennifer is totally up for the challenge. She says she’s “happy to help children who need it” and is already planning fun ways to mix up our daily miles – maybe some park adventures, beach walks, or even silly skips and cartwheels around the garden!

We’d love your support – whether that’s cheering us on, joining in for a mile, or donating to our fundraising page. Every step we take is to help children with cancer get the support they need when they need it most.

Let’s make this summer count – for us, and for them 💜
