🌟 Our Kids’ Summer Challenge for Young Lives vs Cancer 🌟
Wednesday 16th JulOne Mile a Day, Every Day, for a Cause That Matters
This August, my children — Nathaniel, Ethan, Michael, and Martha — are taking on a very special mission.
For 31 days, they’ll each be covering one mile a day — in whatever way they choose.
They might walk, run, scoot, skip, wheel, or swim… however they want to do it, every mile counts.
And every mile is in support of Young Lives vs Cancer — a charity that supports children, young people, and their families as they face the enormous challenge of cancer.

Why We're Doing This
Summer should be full of freedom, fun, and family time.
But for children and young people with cancer, it can be the hardest time of the year.
They’re spending long, exhausting days in hospital — many miles from home.
Parents sleep in uncomfortable hospital chairs, siblings are left behind, and families are pulled apart at the most difficult time.
The emotional weight is overwhelming — and the financial cost of travel, food, and accommodation adds a heavy burden.

What Your Support Means
Young Lives vs Cancer provides incredible support during this time.
They offer free places for families to stay, near specialist treatment centres — their Homes from Home.
But they’re more than just free beds.
They’re a chance for families to eat a meal together, read a bedtime story, or simply be close to one another during some of the toughest days of their lives.

Why It’s Personal
This cause is especially close to my heart.
My dad passed away from cancer nearly three years ago, and not a day goes by that I don’t feel the loss.
I know firsthand how deeply cancer impacts the whole family — not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually.
That’s why my children are stepping up.
To show support, raise money, and bring a little hope to those spending their summer far from home, fighting the biggest battle of their lives.
