I'm taking on 100 miles in March for Young Lives vs Cancer.

I’m taking on 100 Miles this March for Young Lives vs Cancer.

I’ll be completing 100 miles between 1st and 31st March to help raise vital funds for children and young people with cancer.

I’m hoping to ride my bike for 100 miles over the 1st & 2nd March weather permitting but I will complete the challenge whatever.

Young Lives vs Cancer help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. Make a donation and show your support today.

Just a £26 donation could fund an hour of support from a Young Lives vs Cancer specialist social worker ensuring children, young people and families always have someone by their side throughout their cancer journey.

Thank you for your support.

My Updates

Challenge completed

Friday 6th Mar
Yesterday I completed the 100 mile challenge with a ride out to Ratcliffe on Soar power station then across to Sawley Marina for a short break in the cafe which wasn’t open as I arrived at 08:30 and they don’t open until 09:00.
From Sawley Marina down to Trent Lock where I joined the Erewash Canal towpath up to Long Eaton and by road to Beeston.
I still needed a few more miles to reach 100 so I rode along the Trentside to Wilford tram bridge and down to the Suspension Bridge where I crossed back over to return home via Bird Cage Walk.
A couple of events during the ride included being hit by a pigeon in Derby, a puncture on the Erewash Canal and having to ride through a flooded lane between Ratcliffe and Sawley. Oh the joys of cycling but I really enjoyed every minute of it.
THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU THAT DONATED AND SUPPORTED ME IN RAISING £605 plus over £80 in gift aid.
Thank you all,
Ray

Delayed start

Saturday 28th Feb
I really wanted to do my 100 mile challenge over the two days of 1st & 2nd March but due to unexpected circumstances I have had to put it back to 4th & 5th March.
