My Reason Why

Thursday 7th Aug

This summer, I’ve set myself a big challenge: to walk 31 miles to raise money for Young Lives vs Cancer. That might not sound like much to grown-ups, but for me, it’s a lot — especially in the heat, or when I’d rather be playing!

So, why am I doing it?

Well, recently I found out that some children have to go through really hard things, like being very poorly and needing special treatments in hospital. Some of them even need help from their brothers or sisters to get better, which I think is incredibly brave.

It made me realise how lucky I am to be healthy — and how important it is to support charities that help children and families during tough times.

Young Lives vs Cancer is there when young people are diagnosed with cancer. They help families stay together, support them through hospital visits, and make sure they’re not facing it all alone. I think that’s amazing.

So I’m walking 31 miles to make a difference. Every step I take is for someone who can’t — and for the people who support them every single day.

If you’d like to sponsor me, that would mean so much. But even if you just share this with someone else, you’re helping too.

Thank you for reading, and wish me luck! 🩷
