Run 100 Miles in October 2026

I’m running 100 Miles in October for Young Lives vs Cancer.

I’ll be running 100 Miles in October, from the 1st to the 31st, to help raise vital funds for children and young people with cancer.

Young Lives vs Cancer help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. With practical and emotional support. With someone always there. A social worker that gets it.
With places to stay near hospitals. With campaigning to make health, welfare and social care work better. To champion, to problem solve and bring about change.

Every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. Make a donation and show your support today.

Just a £26 donation could fund an hour of support from a Young Lives vs Cancer specialist social worker, ensuring children, young people and families always have someone by their side throughout their cancer journey.

Thank you for your support.

Why?

Saturday 29th Aug
Those closest will know. Many of you will not.

In March 2022, our then 21 year old was diagnosed with a stage 2 cancer.

Scary. Terrifying. Overwhelming. A journey into the unknown.

To watch helplessly as our young adult endured a painful operation, inpatient chemotherapy treatments. To be hospitalised with neutropenic sepsis. To have treatment that changes life expectations and choices.

To lose all their hair, to see them vomit for hours on end, for days at a time.
Was beyond anything we ever expected to experience as parents.

But in the mist of this, Young Lives Versus Cancer were there.
We didn’t have to ask.
They just showed up,
and said “how can we help?”

More than that, they said
“Here is your dedicated person who will guide you through this”
They said
“This is how we can help”
“We have these services available”
“Is there anything else we can do?”

We have been incredibly fortunate, and will be eternally grateful that our young person has had the all clear, has made a full recovery, and continues in good health.

Not everyone is so lucky.

I will be running (and probably walking a bit)
100 miles in October, in support of this fabulous charity.

Any support would be most appreciated

Many thanks, lots of love
Sally
