Want to join us in supporting a good cause? We're taking on the Kid's Summer Challenge for Young Lives vs Cancer and your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate £5 or £500. Every little bit helps. Thank you for your support.

Young Lives vs Cancer help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. Make a donation and show your support today.

  • £15 could go towards a grant to cover travel costs for long journeys to live saving treatment
  • £26 could pay for an hour with a Young Lives vs Cancer Specialist Social Worker. They help families understand and cope with the emotional, practical and financial effects of cancer.
  • £70 could pay for a night in a Young Lives vs Cancer Homes from Home, a free place for families to stay close to specialist hospitals when their child is going through treatment, keeping families together

Join me in supporting a good cause, your contribution will make a big impact, whether you donate £5 or £500. Every little bit helps. Thank you for your support.

Summer challenge complete!

Sunday 31st Aug
He's flown past his target miles AND his fundraising target. I'm so incredibly proud of my super boy. A huge thank you to everyone who has donated. We've had a blast taking part.

Day 30 The Devil's kneading trough

Saturday 30th Aug
We had a great walk today and stood at the top looking at a vast landscape across Kent. It was a steep descent and a windy climb back up but the views made it worth it. Just a few miles off 200 miles now!

End of the holidays/ meltdown time.

Wednesday 27th Aug
We had a disappointing trip to Bodium today. He was really looking forward to the archery bit when we got there it was an empty tent and we were told it's an outside company so they don't know why they didn't turn up. It really has the end of holidays feel with chilyamf adults having meltdowns. It's a beautiful castle but we were pretty relieved to get home! I'm determined to give him a great trip out before the end of the Summer challenge.

Summer challenge from our dogs perspective

Monday 25th Aug
Our pooch has been with us every step and he is tuckered out. He's been enjoying all of our adventures and snoring his head off.

Day 20 and 7 miles.

Wednesday 20th Aug
I've not kept up with every day on here but on my Facebook page I've done every day. Today was a walk around the village and in the afternoon we went to Sandgate, got ice cream and then walked to the Royal military canal. 7 miles in total for today.

His target was 4 miles a day but he's smashed it!

Tuesday 19th Aug
He has done over his miles every day. I will do a breakdown of each day when my phone is charged! But the 124 miles set for all of August has already been achieved. Every mile now is a bonus.

Day 14 and 10.9 miles

Tuesday 19th Aug
A lot of miles in Dungeness! He walked up the lighthouse with his dad and then across the reserve.

Day 10 and 6.7 miles

Sunday 10th Aug
We just got back from our walk from just outside Rye Nature Reserve to Camber castle. We saw cows, sheep, geese, swans and an amazing murmuration!

Day 5 and 5 miles

Tuesday 5th Aug
Walked our dog in the woods and left a rock. We went to the park. Mum needed to pee so headed home. No one at the park anyway. On a sunny day! We went out again when Dad got home but still no one at the park!! Did 5 miles.

Day 4 and 5.4 miles

Monday 4th Aug
Started the day with a pilates lesson and then a run around the park and some football with my friend. We got wet but mum got us a chocolate bar in the shop. 5.4 miles

Day 3 and 7.2 miles

Sunday 3rd Aug
We had a walk where his Nanny J lives and we saw some friendly donkeys and beautiful butterflies. Stopped off at the green for football and a workout!

Day 2 and 11.8 miles

Saturday 2nd Aug
We walked from Sandgate to Folkestone and back again. A round of mini golf, some art spotting, ice cream and walking through the lower leas park.

Day 1 and 5.4 miles

Friday 1st Aug
Day 1. Aim was 4 miles but he did 5.4 walking in the woods and running around the park with his friend. We hid our day 1 rock in Hamstreet nature reserve.

A thank you every day

Saturday 19th Jul
My son and I love painting rocks and hiding them at places we visit. For his August challenge we will hide a painted rock every day when he completes his steps.

Lots of walking

Monday 14th Jul
At the weekend we walked at the Rye harbour nature reserve and Hatch country park. My legs hurt but I'm building up my leg muscles!

Ready for the challenge

Thursday 10th Jul
Noel is walking at least one mile a day throughout August to raise money for young lives Vs cancer. Please support him in his challenge. It's the first one of many he hopes.
