Day 25 – Outdoor Adventure Day 🌲💪

Monday 25th Aug

Today was amazing because I got to do an outdoor adventure day! I tried so many different activities – zorbing, paddleboarding, archery, and high ropes.

It was such good fun, but also really tiring. By the end of the day, I had covered over 3.5 miles, which more than covered my mile challenge.

And something even more exciting – I’ve now passed the £2,200 mark in donations! 💜 I honestly can’t believe how generous and supportive everyone has been. Every pound raised helps children and families supported by Young Lives vs Cancer, and it means so much to me to know I’m making a difference.

Love,
Faith 🌈

Day 24 – My First Junior Park Run 🏃‍♀️💜

Sunday 24th Aug

Today I did my very first Junior Park Run and was supported by my friend Phoebe, which made it extra special.

It was quite an early start, especially after a late night, and it turned out to be harder than I thought. I puffed out earlier than I should have, but with some encouragement from Daddy, I kept going and finished it.

My final time was 15 minutes 35 seconds. I was the 17th female and came 12th in my age category. I’m really proud of myself for finishing, but I think I’ll make sure to get a bit more sleep next time! 😅

Faith 🌈

Day 23 - A Mile of Silly Walks 🤪🚶‍♀️

Saturday 23rd Aug

I was still really tired from my mammoth swim yesterday, so it took me a while to get the energy to leave the house today. But tonight I managed to complete my mile - and I made it a mile of silly walks!

I did all sorts of funny moves, including side step, crab shuffle, the robot, penguin waddle, frog jump, bear crawl, high knees, and straight legs. It was a bit slower than usual, but it was really funny and made me laugh (and probably made other people laugh too if they saw me!).

Sometimes a challenge doesn’t have to be about speed or strength – it can just be about having fun and keeping going, even when you’re tired.

Faith 🌈

Day 22 – A Mile of Swimming! 🏊‍♀️💜

Friday 22nd Aug

Today was my biggest challenge yet – swimming a whole mile! That’s 65 laps of a 25-metre pool.

At first, when I realised just how long the pool looked, I completely freaked out and thought there was no way I could do it. But Mummy and I broke it down into 4 laps at a time, and before I knew it, I was already at 20.

It took me 5 hours, with lots of encouragement, a few play breaks, and plenty of snacks to keep me going. Half way through at 32 laps I started to feel really cold, so we had a little break outside in the sun with some food, and that made me feel so much better.

This was honestly the hardest thing I have ever done, and I still can’t quite believe I actually did it. I’m very sun-kissed, very tired, but really proud. A huge thank you to Rookwood School for the use of your swimming pool - this was very kind of generous of you.

Something else amazing happened today too – thanks to my Auntie Liz promoting my fundraising page to her colleagues, I’ve now raised over £1,900 and moved up to being the 5th highest fundraiser in the whole challenge. That’s just crazy!

Thank you so much to everyone who keeps supporting me, donating, and cheering me on. It makes every tough mile feel worth it.

Love,
Faith 🌈

Day 21 - Walking with Alpacas

Thursday 21st Aug
For my Day 21 activity, I went on a 3-mile woodland walk with Alpacas called Dreamy and Cherokee. They were so funny and gentle, and walking with them through the trees was amazing.

A huge thank you to Bridge End Alpacas for being so generous and letting me have this experience. We all had the best time – definitely one of the most memorable miles so far!

Day 8 (Catch-Up) – Dog Walk with Milo 🐶

Thursday 21st Aug

This morning, I went for a dog walk in Bushy Park, Hampton with the adorable Milo. We walked 2.4 miles, which was really nice. This walk was to make up for the day I missed on 8th August when I was poorly, so now I’m all back on track with my challenge. 🐾

Day 20 - Basketball Bounce 🏀💜

Wednesday 20th Aug

Today I did my mile by dribbling a basketball. I kept bouncing it all the way round and ended up covering 1.3 miles!

I think the constant bouncing might have ruined the peace and quiet for some of the park goers this evening - sorry! 😅 But it made the challenge fun and kept me moving the whole way.

When I’d finished the mile, I went to the basketball court and had a go at shooting some hoops. It was a fun way to round off today’s challenge.

Faith 🌈

Day 19 - Skipping Through It 💜

Tuesday 19th Aug

After yesterday’s epic wheelbarrow challenge, I was really tired today. My arms and legs still felt heavy from pushing Noah the whole mile, so I decided to do something a bit more gentle.

This evening, I did an indoor skip in my own time. It wasn’t easy, but I just kept going, and I did it! 🏅

Something exciting happened too - I’ve now nearly passed the £1,700 mark, and I’ve just found out I’m currently the 6th top fundraiser in the whole challenge!

That’s amazing and it makes me so happy to know I’m helping.

Day 18 - The Wheelbarrow Challenge! 🛒💜

Monday 18th Aug

Today’s mile was definitely the hardest one yet. I had to push my friend Noah for a whole mile while he sat inside a real adult-sized wheelbarrow!

Noah weighs 3.5 stone, so it was really heavy and my arms and legs felt so tired. At some points I wanted to stop, but I kept going all the way round and didn’t give up.

A big thank you to Noah for being so patient while I puffed and pushed the whole way. It was tough, but I felt amazing when I crossed the finish and ticked off another mile for my challenge.

Day 17 - Hopping Mad at Alton Towers 🎢👟

Sunday 17th Aug

Today we went to Alton Towers theme park and it was such a long, hot day! We walked over 7 miles going between all the rides, and while we were waiting in the queues, I added in 2,000 hops on one foot.

That meant by the end of the day I had covered around 8 miles in total! My legs felt like jelly, and I was so tired, but I was proud that I managed to keep going.

It was definitely one of the most exhausting days so far, but I still got my mile challenge done – and a whole lot more.

Faith 🌈

Day 16 - Slides and dancing 💃🏼

Saturday 16th Aug

Today we went to Alton Towers, which was really fun. In the day we spent a couple of hours on the water slides and swimming, which was tiring but a good fun.

In the evening, my best friend Bella and I went along to the kids’ disco. We danced until we’d done a mile. It was a nice way to finish the day, with music, lights, and lots of giggles.

It wasn’t the hardest challenge, but it was definitely fun.

Faith 🌈

Day 15 - Hockey Hustle 🏑💜

Friday 15th Aug

Today’s mile was hockey with Mum and Dad! We did lots of tackling, sprinting, and dribbling the ball up and down the park path. The sudden bursts of running were quite tiring, but it was so much fun.

By the end, I had actually covered over two miles😅 I loved playing against Mum and Dad and trying to win the ball off them.

Something amazing also happened today - I got a flurry of donations that have pushed me past the £1,600 mark! I can’t believe it. Thank you so much to everyone who keeps supporting me. Your kindness is helping me make a real difference for children and families facing cancer.

Day 14 - Galloping to the Finish Line at Salisbury Racecourse 🏇

Thursday 14th Aug

Today was so exciting! Mum and Dad’s company were sponsoring a race at Salisbury Racecourse, and after the final race, the racecourse very kindly let me do my mile on the actual track!

We officially walked 8 furlongs (which is exactly 1 mile), but we actually ended up doing a little bit more. Walking on the thick, dense grass was harder than I expected - my legs felt like they were working extra hard!

When we got to the last quarter of a mile, I decided to run so I could cross the finish line properly. It felt amazing to run down the track and imagine what it’s like for the real racehorses.

It’s definitely a day I’ll remember for a long time!

Love,
Faith 🌈

Day 13 - Trail Running at Danebury Ring 🏃‍♀️

Wednesday 13th Aug

My uncle and his partner came to visit, and they wanted to see Danebury Ring. Mummy and I decided to make it my mile challenge and do a trail run around the outside and inside of the Iron Age ring.

It was definitely harder than I thought it would be! Part way round, I had a little tantrum because Mum misread kilometres for miles, and I thought we were done… but we weren’t! 😅 Once I accepted we still had more to run, I just got on with it, and before I knew it, it was over.

Something really exciting happened today too. We passed the £1,500 mark! 🎉 We even got a lovely email from the Senior Fundraising Engagement Manager – South Central, who told us that £1,501 could pay for almost 58 hours of practical, emotional, and financial support from a specialist social worker.

These amazing social workers are only there for families thanks to people fundraising, like me, and to all the generous sponsors who have donated. That makes every mile feel even more special. 💜

Day 12 - Toys, Trees, and a Sunset 🌳🧸🌅

Tuesday 12th Aug

Today was a busy but really fun day! My friends Bella and Noah kindly found some of their unwanted toys, and we set up a toy sale outside my house. We sold a few bits for donations, and some really kind people walking past gave us money too. We raised £60! Thank you so much to everyone who stopped! 💜

Later, my Uncle Russ came to visit and joined me for my mile challenge. We went for a forest walk to watch the sunset and tried something called forest bathing.

Forest bathing is all about slowing down and really noticing nature using all your senses – looking at the trees, listening to the birds, feeling the wind, smelling the leaves, and even tasting the fresh air! It helps you feel calm, happy, and connected to nature.

We walked quietly, took deep breaths, and listened to every little sound. It made me feel peaceful and full of energy at the same time. It was such a nice way to end the day. 🌿

Day 11 - Bounce, Bounce, Bounce! 💜

Tuesday 12th Aug

Today I did my mile on a trampoline. I was at my friend’s house for a play date, and we decided to use her trampoline for my challenge.

I did 500 bounces (yes, we counted!) and by the end my legs felt like jelly. We laughed a lot and it didn’t even feel like exercise… until I stopped and realised how tired I was!

It was a really fun way to do my mile today and it was even better because I got to spend it with a friend.

Day 10 - Three Legs are Better than Two! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️💜

Sunday 10th Aug

Today was extra fun because my best friend Bella joined me for my mile! We decided to do a 3-legged walk and tied our legs together.

At first, we thought it might be tricky… but we just cracked on and steamed ahead! We were laughing so much and working together really well. I think we made a pretty good team.

huge thank you to Bella and her family for coming along and helping with today’s challenge – it made it even more special to share it with a friend. 💖

Day 9 - Back on My Feet 🚶‍♀️💜

Saturday 9th Aug

Hi everyone!

Today I finally felt well enough to get back to my challenge after being really poorly. I’m not quite 100% yet, but I was keen to keep going, so I did a slow recovery walk to help me get my strength back.

I had a quiet day resting, sipping Lucozade, taking small bites of bland food and building my energy up 🎉

Something exciting (and a little embarrassing!) also happened… I found out I’m on the front page of our local newspaper! I can’t believe it. It’s amazing to see my challenge out there for everyone to read about.

Thank you to everyone who’s been cheering me on while I’ve been unwell. Every message and donation helps me keep going. 💪

Day 8 - update 💕

Friday 8th Aug

Faith has been really unwell with a nasty vomiting bug and has been out of action for the last 24 hours. She was so upset to miss today’s mile, but her health comes first - we’ll be adding the missed day onto the end of the challenge instead.

Even while resting, she’s raised another £100 in the last 24 hours — thank you so much for the continued love and support! 💪💖

Day 7 - Football, Stitches and Fun with Dad ⚽💜

Thursday 7th Aug

Tonight, I did my mile by dribbling a football and it was really fun! I was a bit too eager at the start and went off super fast, which meant I got a stitch halfway through (oops 😅). But I kept going and didn’t give up!

It was really nice to do today’s challenge with Dad – we don’t always get time like that together, so it made it even more special.

We had to do it a bit later tonight because Mum and Dad were working, but we still made it happen – even with tired legs and a sore blister!

Thanks again to everyone cheering me on. Every mile is for a really good reason 💪💖

Day 6 - Rolling, Falling, and Not Giving Up 🛼💜

Wednesday 6th Aug

Hi everyone!

Today I tried something completely new for my mile -  rollerblading! 🛼 I was a bit nervous at first, but I actually picked it up quite quickly. It was fun... but also really, really tricky at times.

There were a few bumps, a couple of wobbles, and even a few tears when I fell. When I got to about 1,000 metres, I wanted to stop. My legs were tired, and I just didn’t feel like I could finish the rest. I told Mummy and Daddy that I wanted to walk the last bit instead.

But we had a little team talk, took a big deep breath, and decided to keep going – and guess what? I did it! 💪

And something AMAZING happened too... I’ve now raised over £1,000!! That’s just incredible. I never thought something I was doing could help so many people. Thank you SO much to everyone who has donated and supported me. You are helping children and families who really need it.

Even when it’s hard, I remember why I’m doing this and that helps me finish every mile.

Love,
Faith

Day 5 - A Gentle Walk and a Little Help for the Planet 💜

Tuesday 5th Aug

Hi everyone

Today I was feeling a bit sore and tired after two days of aerial silks camp and all the miles I’ve already done this week. I’ve even got a little blister from my hiking boots! So for Day 5, we decided to take things a bit slower and did a litter-pick walk for our mile.

Even though it was a gentler day, it still felt good to be out helping. We collected one bag of rubbish and one bag of recycling – so we made a little difference to the planet too! 🌍♻️

And something amazing happened, Mummy told me I’m in the TOP 10 of all fundraisers doing this challenge! I didn’t know what to say 😊

I’ve also been in the Andover Advertiser and even mentioned on Love Andover Radio! That’s SO cool and I’m really proud to be raising money and awareness for Young Lives vs Cancer.

I’m nearly at £1,000 raised and honestly… I can’t believe it. Thank you so much to everyone who’s helped, donated, shared and supported me. I’m doing this for all the brave children and families going through cancer.

Your support helps me keep going every single day.

Love Faith 💫

Day 4 - Rowing, Tears and a Big Thank You 🚣‍♀️💜

Monday 4th Aug

Today was extra tough.

Before I even started my mile, I had already done a 5-hour aerial silks workshop! My arms and legs were tired, and I was already super worn out… but I still had to do my mile for the challenge.

I did rowing for my mile, but because of a technical error (thanks Mummy! 😅), I ended up doing 2.1 miles instead of 1! It felt like forever, and there were definitely tears. I was tired, my arms hurt, and I got really fed up.

But Mummy and Daddy turned into drill sergeants (seriously!) and kept reminding me why I’m doing this – for all the poorly children who are going through something so much harder than this every single day.

And they’re right. So many people have been so generous, giving their hard-earned money to support me and this charity, and I want to make every mile count.

I still don’t know how much I’ll raise in the end, but I can’t believe how much we’ve raised already. It’s amazing. 💖

So thank you, for following my challenge, sharing my posts, and donating. It really means the world to me. Even on tough days like today, you’re helping me keep going!

Love,
Faith 🛶💪

Day 3 - A Muggy Hike, Juicy Berries, and a Big THANK YOU! 💜

Sunday 3rd Aug

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to all the lovely people who have sponsored me. I can’t believe it – we’ve now raised nearly 7 times my donation target!! 😲🎉

When I started this challenge, I just wanted to help some children and young people who are going through something really hard. I never imagined so many people would be so kind. Your donations mean so much to me (and the charity too!). Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! 💜

Today was extra special because Mummy joined us on the mile! She’s been working nights all weekend, but she still came with us for a muggy hike at Danebury Ring. It was really hot and sticky, but we kept going, and we found loads of juicy blackberries on the way! 🍇

I can’t wait to see what the next miles bring! Thanks for helping me do something amazing.

Love Faith 💪🌈

Wow! I Can’t Believe It! 💜

Saturday 2nd Aug

Hi everyone!

I started my challenge yesterday and I’m already so happy and amazed! At first, I set my goal to raise £100 for Young Lives vs Cancer. But then I thought... maybe I can raise even more! So we changed the target to £200.

Guess what? By 10pm last night, we had already raised that much!! 😲

This is the first time I’ve ever done something like this and I feel really proud. Seeing all the donations coming in made me feel super excited and thankful. It means a lot to me, and I know it means a lot to the charity too.

Because of all the kind people who donated I’ve already nearly raised £500!! 😄🥳

I can’t wait to see how the rest of the challenge goes. I’m busy thinking up all the fun ways I can travel a mile every day. (I’ve got LOTS of ideas!)

Thank you so much for helping and cheering me on! 💪💖

Day 1 done and initial donation target smashed

Friday 1st Aug
Wow! All you lovely supporters have Faith buzzing to see how much she can raise for this worthwhile charity. She’s optimistically set her target at £200 and by 9:30pm on day one she’d smashed it! Thank you all. We’ve upped the target to £300 now to see if we can raise even more. Thank you, thank you, thank you xx

One Mile a Day, Every Day - Faith's Challenge

Friday 1st Aug

Hi everyone,

Let me introduce you to someone truly inspiring: my daughter, Faith.

This month, Faith is taking on a personal challenge - one mile of physical activity every single day. But this isn’t just about getting active. It’s about raising awareness and vital funds for Young Lives vs Cancer, a charity that supports children and young people facing one of the hardest battles of all -  cancer.

Every Mile, a New Way

Each day, Faith will complete her mile in a different way - whether it’s swimming, running, cycling, walking, dancing, skipping, or however she feels inspired to move.

This isn’t just about fitness. It’s about doing something that matters.

💖 Why She’s Doing It

When I asked Faith why she wanted to take on this challenge, her answer was simple but powerful:

“The thought of anyone having cancer is just horrible. But the thought of a young person having it is just so hard to imagine what they are going through. I am lucky that I am healthy, but sadly others aren’t so lucky. I want to do my bit to help.”

She’s right. Cancer is a brutal journey - emotionally, physically, and financially - and for a child or young person, it can be even more frightening. That’s why charities like Young Lives vs Cancer are so vital. They provide practical, emotional, and financial support for families when they need it most.

How You Can Help

Every donation – big or small – makes a difference. Your support will help provide:

  • Accommodation near hospitals for families
  • Social workers to help families navigate the challenges
  • Emotional support for young people during and after treatment

If you’re able to sponsor Faith’s journey, please do. Every mile she does is a mile closer to helping a young person feel a little less alone.

And if you can’t donate, please share this page. Awareness spreads kindness too.

Thank you for reading, thank you for cheering her on, and thank you for helping young lives stand up to cancer.

Love and gratitude
