Hair-Raiser Challenge - September 2024

I'm taking on the Hair-Raiser Challenge for Young Lives vs Cancer.

Want to join me in supporting a good cause? This September, I'm taking on the Hair-Raiser Challenge during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. I am joining hundreads of others who are shaving, cutting, dying or styling their hair for Young Lives vs Cancer.

When a child is diagnosed with cancer life becomes full of fear, for them and their family. Fear of treatment, but also of families being torn apart, overwhelming money worries, of having nowhere to turn, no one to talk to.

Young Lives vs Cancer, help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer.

Your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate £5 or £500. Every little bit helps.

Together, we can raise awareness and funds to support children and young people with cancer.

Thank you for your support.

Blonde again...

Saturday 17th Aug
I'm bleaching my hair and going pink for my fundraiser:

It's to raise funds for Young Lives Versus Cancer!

This is not an easy task with a disability lol, I missed a patch so had to add more bleach and next it's pink dye time.

I'm well out of my comfort zone but that's the whole point of fundraising isn't it?

This month and next month I'll be having bright hair to raise money for little lives with cancer, this is a cause close to my heart from my own personal struggles seeing my baby boy, as a toddler, have to endure so much chemotherapy.

It was a very difficult and sad and traumatic time for myself and my family and I just want to give a little back to those who are struggling today.

I have lightened my hair so just need to add the pink soon.

I'm wearing bright colours for August and September to raise atleast £150 for the poor little babies and children, and even teenagers and young adults up to age 25.

Cancer is one of the most difficult illnesses people can go through and the chemotherapy for my son caused a lot of lost memories, but his momma has got his back as I tell him all about the wonderful little toddler he was.

I will always be here to remind him of how amazing he is and how far he has come and he is my little world, along with my dog Bud and Axolotl Ponyo.

Hair is not my forte so definitely something difficult for me to do to raise funds and considering some other fundraisers are about mobilising and walking, which I can't do due to disability, this seemed like the perfect way to help raise the funds.

Rage & Love Darlington helped me wear colour for the first part of August and are an amazing little alternative shop I highly recommend!

Not just because of their kindness and community spirit but because their stock is lit! 🔥

I got myself a few things and I'm saving up to go back!

I want to say a huge thank you to everyone supporting me with this fundraiser and sharing it and together we can achieve so much more!
