What is the challenge?

add remove
Thousands of children are taking on the Kid's Summer Challenge for Young Lives vs Cancer this summer holiday. All to raise funds to support children and young people with cancer.

The challenge is simple - complete 1 mile a day for 31 days between 1st and 31st August.

How the kid's take on the challenge is up to them, whether they cover a mile a day or 31 miles in total. Run, walk, skip, swim, wheel, ride, or whatever way they want to cover the distance. Every mile counts.

This is the kid's challenge, their way 😍

About Fundraising

How do I collect donations?

add remove

We'll set up a fundraising page for you automatically when you sign up. This is the easiest way to collect your sponsorship. All donations come directly to Young Lives vs Cancer, so you don’t have to worry about admin or bank transfers.

You can also fundraise offline. You will receive a Young Lives vs Cancer sponsorship form in your challenge pack. This can also be found in the Resources tab. To pay this in, deposit your sponsorship into your bank account, then pay it directly to your fundraising page. Alternatively, there are handy instructions on our website on how to pay this in.

Is there a fundraising target?

add remove

We simply ask everyone to raise as much as they can to support children and young people with cancer. The target is automatically set to £150, as people with higher targets on their pages raise the most. While there’s no commitment to reach this amount, we’d love for you to aim high. Every pound you raise makes a real difference to children and young people with cancer. 💗

How do I pay in cash donations?

add remove

Any cash donations we suggest you pay into your fundraising page yourself, so all your total will sit together.

There are handy instructions for how to pay this on the sponsorship form.  All you need to do is deposit your sponsorship into your own bank account, and then pay this directly to your fundraising page.

If you have used a sponsorship form, you can follow the instructions on the form, to send this to us so we can claim any Gift Aid.

How do I change my fundraising target?

add remove

When logged in to your fundraising page, you can click on Edit my page, and then change the fundraising target.

They will be set at £150, however, this is just a suggestion and you are more than welcome to change this to what you would like to achieve.

If you reach your target, we suggest going in and upping the target on your page. This encourages people to keep donating to help you hit your target.

Will all my children receive the rewards?

add remove
We are only able to send one of each of the rewards per registration.

We wish we could give every child in the household a reward (when reached) but we need to keep funds protected to ensure our mission to transform the future of cancer care for young people and children and we wouldn't be able to do this as there is a cost to give everyone the rewards. I am very sorry and we are incredibly grateful for all your effort, time and energy with this challenge.

When will we receive our rewards?

add remove
All rewards will be sent out at the end of the challenge in September and they can take between 10-14 working days to arrive.
