Join thousands of others who are swimming 10km (10,000 metres) over the month of July to raise money to support children and young people with cancer.

Simply complete your 10k swim outdoors - head to your local lido, river, sea or lake between 1 - 31 July.

How you take on the challenge is up to you, whether you swim a little everyday or save it up for a couple of big swims a week.

If you don't have a safe place to compete your swim, it is fine to take on the challenge in your local pool, just let your supporters know.

How do I track my swim?

add remove
The best way to track your swim is with a fitness tracker watch. You can sync your fitness tracker to your fundraising page which can be found under "My Fitness Activity" and you can also add your distance manually to your fundraising page. You will also receive a handy printed tracker in your fundraising pack where you can track your progress through the month.

Can I change the distance and dates of the challenge?

add remove
We want you to take part in a way that works best for you. You can increase of reduce the distance and can change the dates if July doesn’t work for you.
We suggest you just let your supporters know your plans.

About Fundraising

How do I collect donations?

add remove

You will automatically be set up with a fundraiser when you sign up. You can also select to set up a Facebook Fundraiser. These are the easiest ways to collect your sponsorship. All donations come directly to Young Lives vs Cancer so you don’t have to worry about admin or bank transfers.

You can also fundraise offline. You will also receive a Young Lives vs Cancer sponsorship form with your fundraising pack. This can also be found in the Resources tab. To pay this in deposit your sponsorship into your own bank account and then pay it directly onto your fundraising page as an offline donation. Alternatively there are handy instructions on the form of how to pay this in on our website.

Is there a fundraising target?

add remove
We simply just ask everyone to raise as much as they can to support children and young people with cancer. Pages are set with a target of £150 as pages with a target are more likely to receive donations.  The donation target is just for guidance, you can set it at an amount that feels achievable for you. We love it when people smash their targets, that feels great for you and us.
