I'm taking on 100 miles in March for Young Lives vs Cancer.

I’m taking on 100 Miles this March for Young Lives vs Cancer.

I’ll be completing 100 miles between 1st and 31st March to help raise vital funds for children and young people with cancer.

Young Lives vs Cancer help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. Make a donation and show your support today. 

Just a £26 donation could fund an hour of support from a Young Lives vs Cancer specialist social worker ensuring children, young people and families always have someone by their side throughout their cancer journey.

Home again for Ella’s 21st

Sunday 22nd Mar
Proton Beam therapy finished just in time for Ella’s 21st. I managed to catch a gastric flu bug so getting in the miles this week has been tricky. Feeling better now so need to up the mileage this week.

Home yesterday!

Sunday 15th Mar
We arrived home yesterday after Ella’s last session of Proton Beam therapy. Such a relief to be finished and Ella was excited to be coming home back to her own bed and the dogs.
We now have a long wait before the next scan but Ella can concentrate on rehabilitation in the meantime. 

Nearly half way

Thursday 12th Mar
Been harder this week to fit in the miles but Ella now only has 3 more treatments and we will be able to go back to Bristol this weekend if all goes to plan. Managed a walk this morning up the canal with a stop for coffee half way. Ella is very tired now so needing to rest a lot but has very few side effects otherwise which is great.

A few miles I managed to fit in before accompanying Ella into treatment at UCLH. Beautiful views from Primrose Hill!!

Raising money for a fantastic charity

Monday 2nd Mar
I’ve decided to enter the 100 miles in March as we have had personal experience of the great work Young Lives vs Cancer does with children and young people. Ella was diagnosed in August with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma and has had wonderful care under the medical teams at both Southmead and BRI in Bristol and UCLH in London. The TYA nurses and team funded by Young lives have been amazing and supported Ella and us as a family. Please help me in raising the much needed funds for them to support more families going through a traumatic time.
