I'M TAKING ON THE WALK 80 MILES CHALLENGE FOR YOUNG LIVES VS CANCER, IN MEMORY OF OUR BELOVED ROB.
This Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, I'm taking on the Walk 80 Miles Challenge for Young Lives vs Cancer.
November 2024 brings two extremely conflicting events for the Harris family. We will be celebrating the 1st birthday of our darling daughter Layla and reflecting on the love, joy and madness that the first year of parenting has brought.
But alongside this we will also sadly be marking 10 years since we lost Rob, James younger brother, and a much loved son and friend, to testicular cancer at the age of 21. Rob was loved by all of those who knew him and lit up the room with his smile, so it goes without saying that he is hugely missed by all of us.
To honour Rob and the support we received from the Young Lives vs Cancer team, I will be using one of my final months of maternity leave to hopefully do a little good and get some cash in to help other families in their time of need.
Did you know that young cancer patients face an 80 mile round trip, on average, to get treatment? Not only is this physically and emotionally exhausting, it comes it a huge financial cost too - and that’s where you lovely people come in.
Any donations you can give, big or small, will be greatly appreciated. In the meantime, me (and Layla of course) are going to get going! I’ll keep posting on insta so everyone can see how I’m getting on.
