I'm taking on Challenge 80 for Young Lives vs Cancer.

This Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, I'm taking on Challenge 80 for Young Lives vs Cancer.

I will be completing 80 miles in September to support children and young people with cancer.

80 miles is the average journey that a family facing cancer has to travel from home to a specialist treatment centre. And now, with the rise in cost of living, families are struggling more than ever before to find the money to make the journey. Then there’s the parking payments, overnight stays and finding food, all while income is reduced. Because working full time and looking after your child with cancer is almost impossible.

Young Lives vs Cancer help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. Make a donation and show your support today.

  • £12 could re-stock the kitchen cupboards at a Home from Home so a family can enjoy a home-cooked meal together with their loved ones.
  • £26 could pay for an hour with a Young Lives vs Cancer Specialist Social Worker. They help families understand and cope with the emotional, practical and financial effects of cancer.
  • £70 could pay for a night in a Young Lives vs Cancer Homes from Home, a free place for families to stay close to specialist hospitals when their child is going through treatment, keeping families together

Join me in supporting a good cause, your contribution will make a big impact, whether you donate £5 or £500. Every little bit helps. Thank you for your support.

My Updates

The Why??

Thursday 21st Aug
As some of you will know, my Stepson Tom, who is 17, was diagnosed as having a rare tumor last October which was found to be cancerous.
His and our lives changed forever on 26th October and the journey to beat this disease started mentally on that day.
Since then Tom has been through aggressive chemotherapy and radiotherapy with the support of his family, amazing friends, wonderful NHS doctors & nurses and also this truly amazing charity.
Tom has very recently been told he is in remission  which was the most amazing news however he is still undergoing medical trials to ensure this awful disease remains as bay.
I am taking on this challenge as I have been so inspired by Tom and his bravery, attitude and determination and want to give back to this charity that have supported him and the other families whose children are also facing their own cancer battle as they do the most amazing work.
