5k a Day in June 2026

I’m taking on 5k a Day in June for Young Lives vs Cancer.

I’ll be completing 5k every day from 1st to 30th June to help raise vital funds for children and young people with cancer.

Young Lives vs Cancer help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. Make a donation and show your support today.

Just a £26 donation could fund an hour of support from a Young Lives vs Cancer specialist social worker, ensuring children, young people and families always have someone by their side throughout their cancer journey.

Thank you for your support.

My Updates

Day 10

Wednesday 10th Jun
Had another evening run today, I feel like I have improved my running ever since the first day of this challenge. I didn't have the motivation to post the last 3 runs (Days 7, 8, and 9). So I forced myself to do it all tonight, and I'm feeling tired right now. I'm not sure if anyone is still reading my posts :

Anyway, I hope I make it to the end of June! Wish me luck! :)
(I'll try and get pictures too!)

Day 9

Wednesday 10th Jun
I had a really nice evening run, way better than the rainy Day 7 evening run. Probably the best picture I have taken by far! :))))

Day 8

Wednesday 10th Jun
I don't have much to say for this run, a typical morning run!

Day 7

Wednesday 10th Jun
This time I decided to do something different... running around the athletic track in the rain in the evening! (even though it was meant to be my rest day)

After hitting +5k, I was soaking wet but I was proud of what I have accomplish on this run.

Day 6

Saturday 6th Jun
I was planning to do a 45-minute run at an easy pace, but somehow ended up running at a moderate to high pace. I had to stop running and walk every now and then. Next time, I'll try not to be tempted to run at a faster pace (really need to work on that lol).

Anyway, that's all today!

Day 5

Friday 5th Jun
I have nothing to mention about Day 5, hehe. Today was a strange day though! :))

Day 4

Thursday 4th Jun
Had a good morning walk, and on one occasion, it was raining. This is by far the longest time I've spent committing to 5k today.

Day 3

Wednesday 3rd Jun
I took a 30-minute run at a moderate pace when it was pouring this morning. Time really flew by during my run. In the end, I managed to run a whopping 5.6k in half an hour! :)

I might do a longer run in the future...

Day 2

Tuesday 2nd Jun
This afternoon, I took a 5k walk around the local park. I was very glad that today's weather was sunny and I enjoyed the walk! Even better, the GPS signal has improved compared to yesterday.

What a great day out!

Day 1

Monday 1st Jun
Started first day strong!

Although the weather isn't at its best and the GPS signal is messing about, I ran (and walked) over 5k! Taking that first step (and blogging for the first time) was definitely the hardest part of fundraising for me, and it means so much to me.

And finally, I really hope that the impact I am making right now will make a difference!
