1500 Squats in November 2024

My Activity Tracking

Squats

My target 1500 squats

I'm completing 1500 squats in November for Young Lives vs Cancer

Honouring the memory of Harvey Venn who was tragically taken from this world far too soon.

I'm taking on the 1500 Squats in November Challenge for Young Lives vs Cancer to support children and young people with cancer.

Young Lives vs Cancer help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. Make a donation and show your support today.

£20 could pay for a coat for a child or young person with cancer, to help keep them warm through the winter months when they really feel the cold due to treatment

£60 could pay for a night in a Young Lives vs Cancer Homes from Home, a free place for families to stay close to specialist hospitals when their child is going through treatment, keeping families together

Join me in supporting a good cause, your contribution will make a big impact, whether you donate £5 or £500. Every little bit helps.

We’ll face it all together – but we can’t do it without you. Thank you for your support.

My Updates

Day 12

Tuesday 12th Nov
Day 12 and 600 squats completed. 🙌🏼💪🏼🎉

My knees are now starting to ask questions as to why I have taken on this challenge 😂. They were complaining this morning!  But, with all the aches and pains, I am really enjoying doing this every day.

I love that I have roped in my Currant Bun team mates and heaven help you if you're in a PT with me at the gym because you'll be doing 50 squats at the end of the session with me 🤭😜 and I am so incredibly thankful to all my supporters for the words of encouragement and generous donations.

Over a third of the way there, 900 to go!

My Tribute to Harvey

Thursday 7th Nov

It is with a heavy heart that I am undertaking this challenge in remembrance and celebration of the life of a remarkable young boy who left us far too soon.

Harvey, just 14 years old, faced the unimaginable challenge of cancer with a courage and strength that inspired everyone around him.

His love for rugby was evident in every match he played, and his teammates will forever remember his dedication and the joy he brought to the sport.

Beyond his athletic prowess, he was incredibly intelligent, always curious and eager to learn. He had a bright future ahead, filled with promise and potential.

But perhaps what stood out the most was his deep love for his family and friends. He cherished every moment spent with them. His love, kindness, and infectious smile brought light into the lives of those who knew him.

Though his time with us was short, his impact was profound. He taught us the true meaning of bravery, love, and resilience. As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate the beautiful memories he left behind and the indelible mark he made on our hearts.

Rest in peace, Harvey. You were far to special for this world and will be forever missed but never forgotten.

You are all AMAZING! 😍

Monday 4th Nov
Wow! 😱
I am blown away by all your messages of encouragement and I can't believe we are at day 4 and I have already smashed my fundraising target of £150.
I am truly grateful to you all.

I think it's time to up the anti... I am raising my target to £300. Let's see if we can smash that too 🙌🏼

In my next blog I would like to share with you what your donations will be spent on. This charity really is a lifeline to families with young children who are going through cancer and I know they are grateful for every one of your donations. ❤️

Young Lives Vs Cancer

Thursday 31st Oct
When a child is diagnosed with cancer life becomes full of fear, for them and their family. Fear of treatment, but also of families being torn apart, overwhelming money worries, of having nowhere to turn, no one to talk to.

One in 10 young people and families say they are missing or delaying their treatment because of the cost of travel to get there. 71% of young people and families say they are struggling to meet the costs of travelling to treatment.

Young Lives Vs Cancer can provide help in six different ways:
*Financial support
*Day to day support
*A free place to stay
*Support for teens and young adults
*Bereavement support
*Campaigning

Over this next month I will be completing 1500 squats to help raise some money for these families who are facing the unimaginable.
