I’m taking on 5k a Day in June for Young Lives vs Cancer.
I’ll be completing 5k every day from 1st to 30th June to help raise vital funds for children and young people with cancer.
Young Lives vs Cancer help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. Make a donation and show your support today.
This is my story and my reason for signing up to this fundraising event
Cancer truly is the worst thing to exist, I can say that bravely and overall confidently because I’ve seen the pain it brings to individuals, whether that’s battling through treatment of this disease, seeing a loved one battle through it or sadly losing my little best friend who will always be my reason and forever be in my heart.
When I was 12 years of age I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins’s lymphoma, this was in my neck not causing me any pain or stopping me from doing anything. I truly didn’t know what this meant for me and I was scared every minute of the way. My mum dad and sister were truly my rock through all of this, and I can’t physically express how grateful I am for them all, it made our bonds inseparable and I wouldn’t be half the person I am now without them and everyone in my family. Who made time to come visit me even if I was having bad days grandma and grandads, auntie and uncles, cousins, friends honestly, I can’t thank them all enough, they have all had such an impact on who I am today and that will never go unmissed.
This charity also played a massive part in my treatment, they supported me and my family through the whole treatment allowing us to share our story with others, raise awareness to those who didn’t understand what it was like to go through this battle or have a relative go through it. They always provided support to my family answering their questions providing us with quality family time to try and escape reality and just be a normal family, overall trying to make this bumpy journey as smooth as it can be.
That is my reason and why I will be taking part of this fundraising event, to raise money for this charity who was there for me and would be there for you, it changes lives and one hundred percent changed mine for the better I couldn’t express this enough.
Thank you to anyone who can donate and for the donations already will never go unappreciated.
