Diya is taking on 31 miles this summer! It's the Kid's Summer Challenge for Young Lives vs Cancer.
When a child is diagnosed with cancer it threatens everything, for them and their family. At a time when they should be busy being children, enjoying their rollercoaster teenage years or finding their feet at uni, life becomes full of fear. Fear of treatment, but also of families being torn apart, of overwhelming money worries, mental health stretched to breaking point, of having nowhere to turn and no one to talk to. Young Lives vs Cancer helps families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day, 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news that they have cancer.
Diya is taking on the Kids' Summer Challenge for Young Lives vs Cancer during the school holidays starting TODAY (1st August). She will be doing 1 mile every day for 31 days. This can be by either walking ,running, swimming,riding a bike,dancing. Everything counts towards the mile!
This is her first challenge and she's very excited to be a part of this charity. Please show your support today.

Day 4
Tuesday 4th Aug Today we had a teddy bear picnic at highfield park with my baby brother and mum. We read a book called going on a bear hunt. We then set out for a nature hunt ourselves and walked for 55 minutes around the park and the lake. We saw some beautiful swans, ducks,geese and collected lots of beautiful nature items which we stuck on a sheet and made a nature crown :). We walked for 2.14 km today before we returned back and enjoyed some swings and park time. Share

Tuesday 4th Aug Went to colwick county park today and walked for 4.96 km. It was a lovely day and the heat was peaking in so my mum also treated me to an orange callipo! Share
