I’m taking on 5k a Day in June for Young Lives vs Cancer.

Hi there,

This June, I’m taking on 5k a Day to raise money for Young Lives vs Cancer, a charity that means the world to me on a personal level.

Someone very close to me went through cancer and watching them fight that battle changed me forever. I saw how deeply it affects not just the person going through it, but everyone who loves them too. Feeling helpless when all you want to do is take their pain away is something you never forget. They’re a survivor now and I’m so proud of them, but those memories stay with you. They remind you how fragile life is but also how strong we can be when we have no choice but to fight.

I’ve also faced my own health challenges over the years and it’s taught me that nothing matters more than our wellbeing. I wouldn’t wish illness on anyone. I want everyone, especially children, to be healthy, happy and free to live their childhoods without fear. No child should have memories of hospitals instead of playgrounds.

That’s why I’m running. Every step is a reminder of how grateful I am to finally be in good health and a promise to myself to use that strength to help others who are still fighting.

Young Lives vs Cancer supports children, young people and their families through the hardest moments of their lives. Every day, 12 more families hear the devastating words that their child has cancer. No one should face that alone.

A donation of £26 could pay for an hour of support from a specialist Young Lives vs Cancer Social Worker, someone who helps families navigate treatment, emotions, and everyday life when everything feels impossible.
