I’m taking on 5k a Day in June for Young Lives vs Cancer.
I’ll be completing 5k every day from 1st to 30th June to help raise vital funds for children and young people with cancer.
Young Lives vs Cancer help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. Make a donation and show your support today.
Just a £26 donation could fund an hour of support from a Young Lives vs Cancer specialist social worker, ensuring children, young people and families always have someone by their side throughout their cancer journey.
Thank you for your support.

One Step at a Time: Why I’m Taking on 5K a Day This June
Tuesday 30th JunWhen I signed up for 5K a Day in June to support Young Lives vs Cancer, I thought the biggest challenge would be the distance.
It wasn’t.
The biggest challenge was showing up every day, even when life got busy.
There were days when I couldn’t complete the full 5K. Work got hectic, plans changed, and sometimes life simply happened. Instead of giving up, I chose to make up the distance over the following days.
That reminded me of something important: progress isn’t always perfectly linear.
Sometimes we fall behind.
Sometimes we need to adjust.
What matters is that we keep going.
Why This Matters
Every young person deserves the chance to focus on being young—not on facing cancer.
Young Lives vs Cancer provides practical, emotional, and financial support to young people and their families during one of the hardest journeys imaginable.
Knowing that each kilometre contributes to that mission has kept me motivated throughout this challenge.
More Than a Running Challenge
This month hasn’t just been about walking or running.
It’s been about discipline.
It’s been about resilience.
It’s been about proving to myself that consistency doesn’t mean perfection—it means returning, even after an off day.
I may not have completed exactly 5K every single day, but I honoured the commitment by making up the distance whenever I could.
And somehow, that feels even more meaningful.
Thank You
If you’ve donated, shared my fundraiser, or simply encouraged me along the way, thank you.
Every kind word and every contribution has helped remind me why I started.
Together, we’re helping ensure that no young person has to face cancer alone.
Every step counts.
Every kilometre matters.
And sometimes, the most important thing isn’t never falling behind…
it’s choosing to keep moving forward.
