- £15 could go towards a grant to cover travel costs for long journeys to live saving treatment
- £26 could pay for an hour with a Young Lives vs Cancer Specialist Social Worker. They help families understand and cope with the emotional, practical and financial effects of cancer.
- £70 could pay for a night in a Young Lives vs Cancer Homes from Home, a free place for families to stay close to specialist hospitals when their child is going through treatment, keeping families together

Step by Step, Mile by Mile - 1st August 2025
Friday 1st AugHi everyone!
Today marks the beginning of my 30-day walking challenge, and I’m happy to share that I’ve successfully completed 1 mile on Day 1! 🚶♀️🎉

My One-Mile-a-Day Challenge for Young Lives vs Cancer
Monday 21st JulHi! My name is Hannah, and I’m 11 years old. This August, I’ve set myself a special challenge—to walk 1 mile every single day to raise money for a charity called Young Lives vs Cancer.
I heard about the amazing work this charity does to support children and young people who are battling cancer, and it really touched my heart. I can’t imagine how hard it must be for kids my age to go through such a tough time. I wanted to do something to help, even if it’s small. So, I decided to use my feet and my heart to make a difference—one step at a time!
Each day, I’ll be walking 1 mile and thinking of the brave children who are fighting cancer. My walks might not be very long, but I believe that every step counts. I’m hoping to raise as much money as I can to help families who are facing such difficult times. Even the smallest donation can go a long way!
I’ll be sharing updates, pictures, and stories along the way to keep everyone posted on how it’s going. Your encouragement means so much to me—it keeps me going even when it’s rainy or I feel a bit tired!
