Tennis-a-thon - August 2024

I'm taking on the Tennis-a-thon Challenge for Young Lives vs Cancer.

I'm taking on the Tennis-a-thon Challenge for Young Lives vs Cancer in August. I'll be aiming to play 5 matches a week every week in August. Gulp!

Some of these will be scheduled club matches and league matches, but the others will be extra. Anyone know a physio? ;)

Join me, either by donating or by offering me a match or both!

By supporting this cause, your contribution will make a big impact to children and young people with cancer. Whether you donate £5 or £500, every little bit helps. Thank you for your support.

Important update

Sunday 18th Aug
Hello everyone,
After playing my 14th match today, (thank you Morag!)  I was having a friendly hit and have managed - I think - to tear a calf muscle. In the unfortunate event I am unable to complete this month, I WILL return and make sure I get those 25 matches under my belt. I am beyond frustrated about it, and to everyone who’s donated so far, thank you. Post-physio update tomorrow.  😫☹️

7 matches in 5 days: complete

Saturday 10th Aug
Thank goodness for the wonderful Jessica Bear, who is going to give me a massage tomorrow. ❤️

4 down 21 to go!

Thursday 8th Aug
Another three matches ticked off this week, East Lothian league and a box league match. Can’t promise it was a stellar performance in all, but we persevere and the important thing is that the team won overall.
Two more before the Friday is over!
More anon… 🎾

Morag vs Fran Box League Singles

Tuesday 6th Aug
Thanks for the match Morag!

Time!

Monday 5th Aug
And we're off! After a slight delay to accommodate a holiday in France (yes, it was absolutely smashing thanks), I have officially started my 25-match run. I kicked off with Women's Doubles' Club Champs match at Dalkeith, where my partner Bridget and I won 6-0, 6-2. Can't promise they'll all be as successful, but like Roger Federer I'm only aiming to be 1% better than my opponents. And that's where the similarities end.
Keep you posted!
