I’ll be running 100 Miles in October, from the 1st to the 31st, to help raise vital funds for children and young people with cancer.
Young Lives vs Cancer help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. With practical and emotional support. With someone always there. A social worker that gets it.
With places to stay near hospitals. With campaigning to make health, welfare and social care work better. To champion, to problem solve and bring about change.

Our Warrior Ethan
Friday 18th Sep💙 ETHAN’S JOURNEY — YOUNG LIVES VS CANCER 💙
Our Ethan is only 20, and the last few months have changed our family’s lives forever.
For around three months, Ethan was becoming increasingly unwell. He was in pain, losing weight, struggling with his energy and experiencing symptoms that just didn’t feel right. He attended GP appointments and hospital several times, but we were repeatedly told it could be muscle pain, a UTI or an infection. Ethan even attended appointments on his own, and we worried that his young age and previously healthy lifestyle meant that just how poorly he was wasn’t always being recognised.
As parents, we knew something was seriously wrong. We kept going back, asking questions and refusing to accept that this was simply something that would pass.
Eventually, Ethan was diagnosed with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) — a blood cancer.
Hearing the words “your son has cancer” is something no parent should ever have to hear. 💔
Now our focus is on getting Ethan through his treatment and supporting him every step of the way. He is facing something incredibly difficult, but he continues to show us just how strong he is.
Ethan is our warrior. 💙
