I’m taking on 5k a Day in June for Young Lives vs Cancer.

I’ll be completing 5k every day from 1st to 30th June to help raise vital funds for children and young people with cancer.

Young Lives vs Cancer help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. Make a donation and show your support today.

Just a £26 donation could fund an hour of support from a Young Lives vs Cancer specialist social worker, ensuring children, young people and families always have someone by their side throughout their cancer journey.

Thank you for your support.

30 Days Complete – Thank You ❤️

Tuesday 30th Jun

Well, that's it... my 30-day challenge has come to an end.

I wanted to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout this journey. Whether you donated, shared my fundraising page, left a message of encouragement or simply followed along, every bit of support has meant more than I can put into words.

There were days when the challenge felt tougher than others, but knowing so many people were behind me kept me going. Your kindness, generosity and encouragement reminded me exactly why I wanted to do this in the first place.

Although the challenge is now complete, the reason for taking part remains just as important. If you'd still like to support the cause, the fundraising page will remain open for a little while longer, and every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference.

Thank you once again for believing in me and, more importantly, for supporting such a worthwhile cause. I truly couldn't have done it without you.

With sincere gratitude,

Tracy ❤️

👟 WEEK TWO COMPLETE

Sunday 14th Jun

Week Two has asked a little more of me.

When I started this challenge, I expected some days to feel easier than others. What I didn't know was exactly what each day would bring.

Living with sight loss means every walk and run comes with its own challenges, but this week it wasn't my eyesight that tested me most. Instead, it was one of those weeks where fluctuating hormones seemed determined to make everything feel a little heavier.

Some mornings, my body felt reluctant before my feet had even touched the floor. My energy wasn't always where I wanted it to be, and motivation occasionally needed a gentle nudge.

But each day, I laced up my trainers and went anyway.

As I've run and walked, I've often found myself thinking about the reason behind this challenge. Having recently supported a family with a young person going through cancer treatment, I know that difficult days come in many forms. Whenever I've felt tempted to complain about tired legs or low energy, I've reminded myself that many families are carrying burdens far greater than mine.

That thought has helped me keep moving forward.

This challenge is teaching me that resilience isn't measured by how fast we move, but by our willingness to keep moving when the path feels a little steeper than expected.

This week, there were mornings when determination had to do a little more of the work than motivation. Yet every step reminded me that progress doesn't have to be perfect. It simply asks us to keep going, one step at a time.

Two weeks in, the kilometres are adding up. More importantly, so is the support.

Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared my page, offered encouragement or followed along with the journey so far. Your kindness means more than you know.

Week Two is complete.

The road continues, one step at a time. 💗

👟 Week One Complete

Sunday 7th Jun

One Step at a Time

Seven days ago, I laced up my trainers and set out on a simple challenge to complete 5K every day throughout June while raising money for Young Lives vs Cancer.

A week later, I'm pleased to say that Week One is complete.

The challenge has already reminded me that some days feel easier than others. Some mornings I've stepped out full of energy, while on others I've needed a little more determination to get going. But each day I've shown up, put one foot in front of the other, and kept moving forward.

As many of you know, I live with sight loss, so every walk and run brings its own challenges. Yet that's also part of what makes this challenge meaningful.

It isn't about speed or personal bests. It's about perseverance, gratitude, and doing something positive for a cause that supports children, young people, and families facing incredibly difficult circumstances.

So far, I've raised £56 towards my £150 target, and I want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has donated, shared the fundraising page, left encouraging comments, or simply followed along.

Your support genuinely helps keep me motivated.

One thing this first week has taught me is that you don't need to see the whole path ahead. Sometimes all you need is the courage to take the next step.

There are still plenty of miles to go this month, but Week One is in the bag and I'm looking forward to seeing what Week Two brings.

Thank you for being part of my journey. ❤️

Why I'm doing this challenge...

Sunday 31st May
This June, I'm taking on the 5k a Day Challenge in support of Young Lives vs Cancer.

Walking has become a huge part of my life over the past few years. Whether it's an early morning stroll, a reflective wander through nature, or training for the Great North Run, putting one foot in front of the other has helped me through some challenging times and has become an important part of my own wellbeing and healing journey.

Having recently supported a family with a young person going through cancer treatment, this challenge feels particularly meaningful. It reminded me that when cancer affects a child or young person, it impacts the whole family. The emotional, practical and financial pressures can be overwhelming.

That's why I'm committing to walking (and occasionally running!) 5 kilometres every day throughout June. Over the month, that adds up to 150 kilometres and, hopefully, funds that can help Young Lives vs Cancer continue supporting families when they need it most.

As a mum myself, I can only imagine how difficult that journey must be. If my daily miles can help make even a small difference, every step will be worthwhile.

My fundraising goal is simple: 30 people donating £5 each. Of course, every donation, no matter the size, will be hugely appreciated and will help support children, young people and families facing cancer.

If you'd like to support me, I'd be incredibly grateful.💗

Thank you for your support, encouragement and kindness.

Here's to 30 days, 150km, and making a difference together.
